For a rookie actress she did pretty well . Funny you still watched the first episode when you wanted it to flop…
While i agree that people shouldn't be doing that . I believe this drama does not have any element that may cross the line ( atleast none so far if i am not wrong and it's a bit early to form an opinion on it ) It wouldn't have aired otherwise don't you think ? It has gone through screenings to be airing on the national tv channel .
Okay so I might be in minority here but I have liked this so far ( 5 episodes in ) . I read the manhwa before watching this so i did notice that they added a few characters in the drama version for e.g., as far as my memory recalls there was no subin , seongpil or the prosecutor . They also changed the storyline a bit . I started this without knowing how much of the changes have been made and still enjoyed it because there are a lot of scenes they showed from the manhwa . For instance the first time seungmin and Yoo Hee met at a crime scene at the party . That was nicely done ! I also like how they didn't hold back and showed a lot of gory stuff which * WARNING FOR THE WEAK HEARTED * is not for everyone . Don't watch it if you cannot take dark and gritty dramas . Secondly , the president of that club ( who gathers young girls ) , i didn't get used to her at first ( she was annoying lol ) but then i realized how much i hated the character , how detestable she was , same as she was in the manhwa ( though obviously it wasn't really implied that she screamed at everyone all the time ) , that feeling the character gave off meant that the actress actually did a good job . Thirdly , there was no mention of seungmin's sister in the manhwa so the current storyline kind of reminded me of 'Awaken' where the male lead gets close to the female lead to get back at the bad guys ( that involve her father ) but then becomes conflicted because he starts to care for her ( have to mention 'Children of a lesser god' here as well because main lead's sister gets killed while digging up a case people wanted buried which is kind of similar here ) . Fourthly , Yoo hee's uncle wasn't a gang leader ( if i recall correctly ) in the manhwa . Fifthly , a lot of inmates were added in the drama who weren't there in the manhwa . In short ( following the drama's storyline ) , Yoo Hee's father ( the mayor ) became a part of the cult along with his brother . The cult leader is in prison and literally everyone obeys him , from the inmates to the police officers to a lot of influential people . The president of the bar / club provides the " women " to people including the cult leader . Seungmin's sister found out about the cult and was killed . So he found his way to get to the cult leader by going to prison for an "alleged " crime . In the manhwa , he wants Yoo hee to solve the puzzle and get to the bottom of it while in the drama he sort of protects her . The cases she tries to solve are all connected to the cult and that's how she finds out why her mother gave up and how twisted her family was ( thanks to the flashbacks ) . I love the acting of the cast so far and haven't seen them in any drama ( except Woo Hyun and iam always overjoyed when he's cast , he's that good of an actor ) . I will probably need to re-read the manhwa after finishing this drama because i've forgotten a lot of details that provided in-depth details of the background .
I believe the other comments are quite unnecessary seeing how this turned into a discussion. This was not a comment…
I don't think anyone told the original commenter to love the actor . It's fine to express preference of one actor over another but there's a way to do that yes ? I understand the original commenter had no such intention and it was just a matter of preference but anyway .... expecting a lot from this drama .
Started out fine but became a bit unrealistic , i mean that huge weapon should have finished the villain but he got back up like it was nothing . Not to mention the female lead's constant crying/shouting ........
What a great first episode of the spin-off ! Here are my thoughts : 1) In the veil soo yeon seemed to have a pony tail in the flashbacks , while here she had the same hairstyle as she had in the main story 2) People will find this spin-off easier to digest compared to the main story because it has just one thing going on 3) Commissioner Do is even more unlikeable here XD , she's so ruthless , but that goes to show how well Jang youngnam played her 4) I personally think this spin-off should have been included in the main story , it would have explained things so well 5) You cannot watch the spin-off without the main story or vice versa because both are needed to complete the story . 6) I also think this was just as good as the main story , so the people who seem to be comparing both as if it's a competing fest , they are from the same family ( a parent story and a child story ) for goodness sake . Don't do that . You can praise something without comparison . 7) Chun woo * internal sobs * i cannot tell you how sad i was when he died in the main story even though we saw so little of him . 8) Soo yeon's character is very likeable here , for all those who couldn't stand her in the main story , you should watch this , it'll change your mind for sure ! 9) I thought at first that the spin-off will be about their mission in china ( reference to the main story ) but it wasn't 10) Chun woo and goo pyung's comradery reminded me of Ji hyuk's team T-T *cries* 11) I liked kyung seok's character too ( though we know from the main story how he was following orders just as dong wook was ) 12 ) Lastly , i hope there are more spin-offs like another user has said here ( like maybe about baek mo sa ? About the missions outside korea ? About Ji hyuk's childhood ? About Je yi's childhood ? About Lee In hwan ? )There are numerous possibilities and i would even love a season 2 if that ever happens !
I don't understand why you think she was 'forced' to be featured ? Like how are you assuming she is a relative…
Not sure about that because some Day 6 fans are familiar with her since she appeared in their MVs and has made several other appearances in many dramas like doctor prisoner . Still I respect your opinion .
Found the drama pretty good for its supernatural mix thriller concept . ML reminded me of Okabe Rintaro and i kept remembering 'El psy kongroo' whenever he appeared . Anyway there were some confusing instances and could have been clarified further .

And who's disrespecting the country ?
