The episodes have been exceptional but ep 9 and 10 seemed a little bit dull for me. I sincerely hope 11 and 12…
I will keep my expectations low for 11 and 12 because they're often the weakest episodes. I would describe Episode 9 as a "transitional" episode rather than "filler." Episode 7 was similar for me.
I am on Episode 4 and I have a question for anyone who's seen this:
How long does Yook Dong Ju continue to lie that he wrote the manuscript? It's getting agonizing to watch him lie time after time to person after person. Will it take a bunch more episodes for the truth to come out?
me after reading a theory that stated sunjae's fate will transfer to taesung & taesung will dΒ‘e instead π
SMLs do usually exist solely to either 1) sabotage the MC's love so they have something to overcome or 2) to make the FLs happy with the ML by doing something heroic behind the scenes. One of these options is typically their Kdrama lot. π
I just checked netflix (uk) and the drama seems to be on there. I've noticed with a few korean dramas, where they…
The Kdrama is very dated, and quite long, but is most definitely a classic. It might be worth it to watch before the Thai Drama (which is excellent), so you can see how they changed/updated the story while clearly keeping elements of the Korean version intact or as inspiration for the Thai version. All the adaptations of BOFs are famous for a reason, and each has their own charms, as well as highlights, and strengths and weaknesses. I didn't know Thailand could do good mainstream dramas since they are mostly known for BLs, but apparently they can when they have good source material to work with!
just finished episode 2 and really enjoying this although FL seems really accident prone for someone who was paralyzed…
Well, she's a female lead in a rom-com Kdrama. She can't NOT be clumsy. π That would mean the ML would miss out on all the opportunities to come to her rescue and show her how much he cares about her! π
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo - youth, comedy, light + deeper themes, great chemistry, HE
Also, Korean is definitely the easiest Asian language on the ears that I've encountered (the Seoul dialect, at least). I love listening to people speak it. So much easier to listen to than Mandarin or Thai (in my opinion).

Yeah, it turned me off at first, too. But I got used to it after a few episodes and even went on to watch Love Like A Galazy with her in it and it's also good work by her. Her voice does remind me of a 1930's Hollywood silent film actress. π

I got into dramas after the leads dated/broke up in WLFKBJ, so I wasn't around when all that blew up (or for the Song marriage disaster). π¬
Hidden Love is a cute rom-com; I had some quibbles with it, though. For one, the beginning felt a bit weird because of the age gap and the FL's painful puppy love, and for another, I think I might just have some issues with it that I have with Cdramas in general, actually, but the leads had amazing chemistry. There was a part where the ML begins to suspect (after many episodes of being oblivious) that the FL has been crushing on him for years, and he flirts with her in all these hilariously flustering ways (for her) to confirm if his suspicions are correct. That part is brilliantly done and executed very well by the leads. It's when I realized why everyone makes such a fuss about Zhao Lusi. She was incredible in it.

I just rewatched Weightlifting Fairy because it reminded me of LR (and yes, sadly, I think the chemistry was so electric mostly because the leads were a real couple for it; the chemistry in Episode 8 of LR reminded me of the Cdrama HL, actually), but BWS has a super tiny cameo as a sunbae of the ML in the last episode. π
we all agree that episode 8 is the best episode so far right? π€£
I think the end of Episode 10 brought the most peaceful feelings, though, and huge relief. But their chemistry and cuteness is fantastic in 8. Often the strongest Episode in most Kdramas.
Just caught a detail at the end of ep 10 missed before. When the screen in modern time changed, it removed the…
I like this theory, because then it means he can be with Sol without dodging his fans the rest of his life or worry one of them will kill Sol out of jealousy. π
Him remaining an idol has sentimental value, certainly, but doesn't work practically for him if he wants to be with Sol and build a normal life with her.
Also, I hope in the future Sol can tell Sun Jae everything about the original timeline and what he did for her in the previous timelines. In the future she can do that without being affected by the time travel parameters.
