Also run out of space ;) Anyway, I still really liked some episodes, like the Doctor's Wife(YAY! for Neil Gaiman). And I'm also intrigued by Clara, so I hope this year will be good ;). As for David Tennant, well.. he is seriously amazing, and he was just destined to be the Doctor, all that stuff with him being a fan of the show since childhood.. I really like that about him, for now I'm reading the books for 9th and 10th doctor and watching Torchwood just to pass the time ;)

What I loved about 9th and 10th, was "the oncoming storm" part, they could be kind and funny, but there were moments when they shown that there is so much more inside, all that dramatic, furious Time Lord part. Also RTD wasn't scared of challenging that and making them reflect on their actions. The characters seemed real and deeper, because they had emotions and doubts as normal people would. Many episodes were suprising for me because of that. Moffat can create really clever plots, but you sort of know what to expect. I also had high hopes for River, when she first appeared, but the development wasn't that great. And I think angels were overused. Blink was a great episode, but Angels in Manhattan... I think they could do a better job running away. Also Ponds dissapearing.... if Rose was 'just' lost in time, the doctor would have found her. Or rather she would have found him :)

Already doing that ;) Confusion aside, I think you should start with episode Rose, even if it's not so cinematographicly spectacular, the characters and the story will quickly grow on you. :)

Yes, I am. Guilty as charged, maybe I'm even worse ;) I started with the beginning of the new series - 2005 and watched all 7 seasons, so I'm up to date, now I'm wondering if I should go back and watch some previous doctors or read the book series. I sort of marathoned the whole thing, so I might just re-watch it quite soon. I think it might be possible to start watching it as they said in that youtube movie with 11th doctor, which would be the 5th season, it's much more polished, modern and sort of fairytale-like than seasons 1-4 and somehow a bit detached from those, but I love Doctors 9th and 10th the best, they were absolutely brilliant and fantastic, and their story was much more humane, deeper, touching and clever for me, and sort of hmmm.. more British ;) I wonder how it is for people that started with 11th hmm.. maybe I need to re-watch it in that order ;).

I've been very busy lately, there is a lot going on in my life, we're moving into new apartament and such. I also haven't watched anything Asian in a while, because I'm completely engrossed with Doctor Who, although I've watched all new seasons already (1-4 were the best) so I might go back to dramas soon, when I'll have some time, but the Doctor, oh the Doctor it's just so brilliant! I hope you'll watch it too. I want to use quotes from it everywhere, but there's no one around who would get it :(

I guess I'm a whovian now, I'm up to date already ^_^ The best show in the universe, but I must say I miss David Tennant... he was my doctor... he wa just so brilliant! Actually I liked 9th and 10th the same, mostly because their stories were so connected, they really seemed like the same character. With 11th I thought he's ok, but where are everybody else? I hoped Jack, Mickey or Martha would pop-up or there will be some references at least. I think new seasons are sort of more fairytale-like, while the 9th and 10th seasons had a good balance of reality and absurdity.. What do you think? ( You're the only other fan I know, so I'm up for disscussion ;) )

I also started with movies. That really makes sense. If I may recommend something, one of the very first I've watched was 200 pounds beauty - it has that familiar makeover theme, also dreams comes true and becoming a star theme, but it's sparkled with some unusual ideas (for Western viewer) like the whole love story development or approach to plastic surgery or humor, which makes it really fresh and attractive.

Yes, but there will be more elves, there must be! They will be going through Green Elves territories ( it was funny in the book) - and I think they'll develop more about that animosity between dwarfs and elves, and there's Thranduil, father of Legolas, he was quite a piece of work (glad his son came out better;) )

I think it's a movie made by a fan and for fans, with all the love for the Tolkien's Middle Earth :) For me it was great- pure indulgence, can't wait for the rest of it - but well I'm the type of person who enjoys reading Sillirmarilion. My Tom was the best:"What?! It has ended? But what about the dragon? For the whole movie I've waited for them to fight with the dragon!" ^_^ As for the Doctor- it has that "I don't know what I'm watching, but it's awesome" factor. It's like a wonderland full of whimsical goodness but with deeper philosophical undertones. I started with 2005 season (first of new series), actually I watched first episode like a year or more ago, but I didn't like it that much, but I started again and the second episode won me over- well the timing was great, because I watch it just before December 21 and it was about the end of the world. But don't let me spoil you ;)
