First of all I love when MDL articles get so intellectual, I wish I could pull something like that off. Otsukare :)
1. Female
2. Hmmm well eye candy ;)But then you can always consider a role-model idea, but usually it's opposite, one can see that often women actually hate the heroines and their way of conduct, because it's so annoying and irrational.
3. Definetely, disregarding international audience, I think it has something to do with that in countries such as Japan and Korea, a model in which women eventually become housewives and men pursue career is still quite popular. Ergo, women spend a lot of time alone at home and have more time to watch dramas (it's not just my observation I read it while making a project about Takarazuka Theatre).
4. wicked - 4 male ,1 female ;)
To be continued...

I just write mine here too:

Thank you for creating the most awesome community ever, a place for us, drama-addicts,separated and scattered around the whole world- a support group that supports us in our addiction :)
Otsukaresama deshita ^_^

And thank you for helping me to realize that I've spend so much time watching dramas (over 50 days and counting) - partially I'm proud, partially I feel guilty, but it's always good to know, and I wouldn't if not for you. So thank you once more ^_^

Nice article. I've heard of Skip beat but never watched it. I knew there was both anime and drama. I love comparing…
Ekhem... Nodame Cantabile is the best drama ever! If I may say so myself...

I loved Skip Beat! Ivy Chen was amazing, one of the few female leads I really liked. I especially liked the scenes, when they were showing her development in acting -those were really well done. And actually I really like how the romance was done, because it wasn't overwhelming. Both R/L and K/G have the issues that prevented them from involving with each other. K/G is after a really devastating relationship and R/L has his own messed-up, vague backstory. Even in the manga it goes really slowly(I think they're still not actually together but I haven't read any in half a year, so maybe I'm wrong). But I really liked how they showed their growing admiration and friendship, and the senpai-kouhai relationship. Althogh it's slow, they have a very firm connection. And I really want to see more! The story with Kuon... and everything else...

Well it was an attempted revival of the series, it has Tardis and the Doctor, some companions and Master lurking about. Apparently there were many things or rules added in it, that not everybody consent to, like that a Time Lord have 13 lives and such.

I thought it would be tragic and a bit more bittersweet story, when she said once about first time meeting him "An impressionable young girl, and suddenly this man just drops out of the sky, and he's clever, and mad, and wonderful, and knows every last thing about her. Imagine what that does to a girl" *yes I was searching for that quote for half an hour* I thought it would be really something epic, like he met her when she was younger and made her into River, I was really hoping to see their adventures together but instead he goes around with her mother? And she always knew more about him, and it's a pity that all her story from a young girl to River was shown in like one episode.

Just FYI to fellow Whovian ;) Watched the movie, it's so-so, as for Torchwood- the 1st season was just okay, but it gets much better in the second one, it's much more promiscuous that Doctor Who though and it's not 90% Captain Jack's fault, as one could expect from previous experiences ;)and much more serious actually,I wish it was more funny, but there are some great episodes as well. But I highly recommend the books for the Doctors you liked - they try to keep the characters consistent with their on-screen versions, so it's really awesome.

Very well, thank you. Very busy though, with life getting in my way, I don't have that much time to watch stuff recently. What about you, are watching anything good?

I'm off dramas for a bit, switched to Western shows (90%Doctor Who ;) ) but I'm planning to finish King of Dramas and Akumu-chan soon. And then check what's new out there.

You cannot compare Doctor/Rose story to anyone- they're unique. I like how easy-going they were- no drama, no jealousy, no misunderstandings. Just prancing about, holding hands, having adventures, saving the world and being happy to be together. But also always having faith and trust in each other. And when the other one was in danger, they always did everything, they went over the impossible to save him/her and be together again. And that's why I don't get that story with River. It's like they don't really care to be together, they appearently go on some "dates", that we don't see. And maybe that's why it's so hard to understand when they developed any kind of bond with each other. With Rose it was the other way around, because they were so long together and so happy and natural. I was hoping to see something like that with River- some kind of slow, development.

I think you might really like Nodame then, another good and light one- Yankee-kun to Megane-chan. I like almost anything, but I also like being surpised, so I really enjoy weird and unusual ones :) I don't like those overly tragic and dramatic.

Well, that is a big challenge... for now I'm watching Torchwood and reading books for 9th and 10th. I might watch the previous series, but I think I'll do it backwards, for now I have that movie for the 90's ready to watch :)

Zycie mnie mocno pochlania ostatnio. Wrocilas do ogladania dram? Komputer dziala juz? (z tego co pamietam to mialas z nim jakies problemy?)

Thank you ^_^ (for the record I only wrote 2, I just coordinate the series). As for recs, that depends on what genre you like. My all-time favorite is Nodame Cantabile, and I always recommend that one. But you have many great dramas on your PTW list - Liar Game, Love Shuffle, Iljimae... just let me know what are you in the mood for, then I can recommend something ;)

Love your article (didn't read it all though- Spoilers... :) *Yes I made DW reference ;)*) I absolutely hate amnesia cliche -"we don't know what to do with last 2 episodes, so let's just hit him on the head, so they need to relive it all again and we can just fill it all out with flashbacks..." Really, script writers? REALLY?!
