I'm getting kinda annoyed at BSU's sister now. At first, her behaviour was understandable since she raised him…
I agree with you 100%! That being said, I'm honestly kinda glad she is a source of conflict at this stage in the drama, and not some stupid misunderstandings between the first couple. Some may say it's running too smooth for them but I'm really glad the writers took the route of wholesome relationship between first couple (to be fair, they have had their share of difficulties for the first couple episodes) and the relationship of the second couple being kind of the focus (but not overly) at the moment. I really like both couples (the second to-be couple) and I'm thoroughly enjoying this drama πβ¨ But, as I said, regarding the Seon Uk's sister, I agree 100% with what you said
This is one of my rare fav kdramas, i really have a special place in my heart for this drama( i discovered yeaji…
Same, I won't change the rating but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able ro rewatch it again. Maybe only the scenes with Seo Yea Ji and Oh Jung Se... But I'm not really sure...
The fact that he had the audacity to cry in front of that camera speaks volumes about what a monster he actually is. He makes me sick. I'm praying Saeron is in heaven now, and I'm praying for her family and all his other victims, known and unknown. He belongs in jail.
Her writing has so much potential but unfortunately, there isn't much healing in her dramas at all. Just trauma... The moment you think the character(s) are finally able to heal, something happens, or the character(s) make such poor choices that you can't even believe it. She nails the trauma aspects but fails to deliver any healing...
I hope more people read your review because this drama had really disturbing things shown and no resolutions (or poor ones) to them. Since I've watched this drama I've got used to the disturbing things that get shown in the dramas (and, hence, I don't find them so disturbing anymore, I've learned to have more emotional distance to what I see on screen). But still, if it's supposed to be a healing drama and not just some crime/thriller drama, I think things like this must have some resolution, even if it's only in the characters' heart. And we don't get that here. There are really no resolutions to characters' traumas at all. No healing, just guilt or escape I noticed that even though I've watched this drama a couple years ago, it still frustrates me from time to time, when I think about it. So, anyway, sorry for the negativity π , maybe I'll come to write my own review to stop getting frustrated over it xD
I agree, thanks for writing this review. It's honestly really surprising for me so many people are calling it a healing drama, when there's no real healing throughout it. Unfortunately, the writer of the drama has a tendency (I watched 2 of the 3 dramas she wrote the script for, and well, I can see the pattern) to write dramas that have so much potential but end up being a string of traumatic things happening to the characters, with no real healing in sight. Both dramas of hers I've watched (this one and Dear Hyeri) depict many mental health issues but don't really show how to overcome them (or the drama depicts a toxic way to deal with them). Or, in the instance of When The Weather is Fine, don't really name them, as you said :///
Yeah, I agree with you totally. It's been a few years since I've watched this one, but I still remember that the last couple episodes were certainly not satisfying. Especially Hae Won's actions, which were really kind of selfish, even considering her (probable) deep depression. Because I don't even know why she would come back to Seoul, there was nothing keeping her there. On the other hand, the village was the place where she could heal and with people who would support her in that (especially Eun Seob). So in the end, I think the last couple episodes were just poor writing. The plot was running in circles and in the last two episodes we had a character regression, and because of that, an unsatisfactory and underwhelming ending
