A light-hearted series set in Republican Era
Fall in Love is about Tan Xuan Lin, a military commander, and Mu Wan Qing, the eldest daughter of a powerful businessman. They meet and end up helping each other by using their own resources and influence.
It’s a pretty light-hearted drama, but the plot is quite packed and engaging. I enjoyed it a lot, especially from the early episodes up to around episode 25. I also liked that Mu Wan Qing’s stepmother arc was resolved quite early on.
I really love the two main lead's characters. Tan Xuan Lin is very smart with his strategies and always thinks one step ahead, while Mu Wan Qing is just as sharp when it comes to business. Watching them work together, make deals, and use their own strengths is really satisfying. Their romance develops naturally and makes sense, and both lead actors did a great job.
That said, I wasn’t really into the romance subplots of the other characters, so I skipped a lot of those scenes. I also skipped most of the war arcs from the late 20s episodes until the end. The cinematography and costumes are okay and the music is fine too.
Overall, it’s still a very enjoyable drama, and the ending is pretty good
