This is the sort of drama that communicates with you through your body. Where there is a non verbal scene, your body's reaction will fill in that gap. I'm sorry to those who did not get that 'feeling' that everyone else is raving abt this drama. People who enjoy the 'feeling' of 'falling in love' especially at that young naive age will understand this the most.

To those who don't, I'm curious to know what 'falling in love' looks like to you....and do you enjoy romantic shows in general? If so, care to share the ones that reasonate with you the most.

Avid cdrama watchers definitely recognise that gems like this come once in a blue moon and I'm stoked!!!
Romance in dramaland is rarely portrayed like this. Ordinarily we would have waited 16 episodes for for them to get together, all the whie being left to attend some long workplace or sport plot virtually.....I was just at work writers, I do not need another job while watching a drama!!! I swear I could put various professions on my resume now and I'll be good at them 😭😭😭

I first watched FL, ZJM in a thriller sci-fi mini drama called Reset. Its got a bit of romance but it seemed to tie in perfectly with the plot. It was a time loop drama which was exceptional by most standards in my opinion

If you're looking for shows with mostly romance with little more intelligent writing, I recommend
Cdrama
You are my glory (loved the leads banter as a couple mostly in 2nd half of drama)
Meet yourself (Both leads had excellent chemistry with the camera!)
Love 020 (it had its faults but it was an intelligent drama where the leads had each others back from day 1)
When I fly towards you WIFTY(Mostly high school drama but it was full of heart and cannot forget Su Zai Zai and 'Rang Rang' oh my heart 😊)
Hidden love (though I had an issue with over emphasis of the leads age difference, you'll be fine since you liked love me love my voice. Same writer as WIFTY.
Road home (ML was the total package and manages to convince that he was in love)
The day of becoming you (If you enjoy body swap; thought the leads did really well)
Dream of splendor (historical- Loved the first 3/4 of drama - more mature romance)
The ingenious one (historical- If you love political tactics - mature romance)
Wonderland of love (Historical- One of the rare dramas that manages to combine political, action and romance in a mostly logical and entertaining package)

I especially dislike those as well. They end up with illogical fillers just to delay their inevitable union....takes away all the excitement aargh!

This is what I expect to see when a show's genre is 'Romance'. Many dramas love using this tag when they're anything but! In fact, I will argue that not many writers and directors know how to portray romance on screen. As such, I watch gazillions of dramas in search of the 'ONE' but only to end up just watching mediocre shows because I have come to admit that its very hard to come across the really good ones. This one will definitely enter my "Hall of fame"!!!

I saw her as well and thought she looked like Xuan Xuan from 'Please be my family". I could be wrong through since she is not credited as appearing in this drama

I think your appreciation of this drama will depend on the following,
1. Are you a peace-loving person who doesn't thrive on unnecessary drama and misunderstandings?
2. How long and how many cdramas you've already watched but few have failed to fulfill what you find desirable in a 'partnership' where people express their love through unshakable trust and absolute loyalty?
3. Do you find FLs speaking in baby voice annoying and a mood killer whereas Su Zai Zai somehow manages to do 'cute' in an appropriate amount?
Seriously, as much as I liked HL I was annoyed that Zhao Lusi's younger character actor sounded more mature than ZL herself as she grew up. There was already an age gap between the 2 leads in the drama but that speaking voice always made me slightly uncomfortable and took away something from me immersing myself truly into it. They did the same with Love Me, love my voice which spoiled a really good show for me. I still tried to enjoy both shows but heyyyy, the ick was too much
4. Do you somehow feel the writer has a high emotional intelligence with the way she thoughtfully wrote all the characters in this drama not just the leads?

The soapy melodramatic writing that turned up in S2 was uncalled for. Whoever did the scriptwriting for this season need to go back to 2010s soap operas. Not much depth or breadth in the vocabulary either......mianhaeyo, gomapta, 😱 omg i cant...heard these phrases over and over! It was like a different show altogether. They didn't give FL much to work with here thats why ppl like JSM in S1. Her character was so much better there. Even Crown Prince was not enough to salvage this......

This drama is doing exactly what its supposed to do, giving us butterflies and extra cheese which is hard to find in dramaland! So many dramas have claimed to be 'romantic' but adult couples will only kiss twice and call it a day. Or they'll have these unnecessary background stories of some boring workplaces like damn, I spent my day working and the last thing I want is to be bored by another excel spreadsheet in a drama. Make it make sense! This, on the other hand, has all the intimate bits and I'm here for ALL OF IT 😅perhaps I'm biased towards the 'deep male voice' too but there's just something so sexy about it that I'd fall in love too without seeing the person...(of course its not just the voice but also their mind.....more like Deep voice + high IQ/EQ and I'm a goner 😅) . Its not a perfect drama but its pretty close.
Those who do not like intimacy in shows or it makes them feel uncomfortable, there's plenty else to watch out there fortunately.
