I cant believe this show introduced me to JCW 2 years ago! Him and KJW were so compatible with gazillions of chemistry. The OST alone deserves 10/10 πŸ’«

"Stalking is a pattern of repeated and unwanted attention, harassment, contact, or any other course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear,” according to the Department of Justice. Similar to crimes of sexual violence, stalking is about power and control.

Underline the words, "unwanted"; "harassment" , "fear".
Xiao Nai was NOT a stalker

49 episodes is indeed too much for this juvenile madness...such a pity it was a high quality production that again is overly lengthy and quickly loses its charm. I keep hoping cdrama would adopt the kdrama 16- ep format because frankly the scriptwriting in cdrama sucks most of the time... With so much content available to watch nowadays who has the time for this many episodes???

This was my first cdrama and it felt very much like a PR job for the state, is that common for cdramas? I usually…
I have seen a lot of cdramas and this is one of the few with a mostly positive spin which I attribute to the writer. It may seem overdone, but once you've seen other cdramas you'll be grateful that this drama exists. If you also look closely you'll realise that things weren't all hunky dory especially for Yutu on the job front. The difference is that they made sure to communicate.
Other cdramas tend to use misunderstandings and lack of communication, amnesia,
love triangles etc as plot drivers since they are always 30+ episodes. It can get repetitive and draggy.
Very few dramas are like this one here because it literally does the opposite, it was unexpected in a good way.

I agree with every words you said. I feel the same way about the Gao's illness, and justification for his greedy…
I agree, thats why I'd still give it a 10. It was really good all around though. I dont regret watching it. I would have loved to see Li Xun and Gao take each other head-on without all this brain cancer nonsense.

I think this is one of the most decent and well-produced show you'll see in cdrama land this year. Its really hard to find intelligent writing and I'm grateful for this high quality production that did not insult my intelligence on the most part. I love the perfect casting, the music, the cinematography, costumes etc. Considering how young the leads are, I wasn't expecting much from them but wow, Arthur really perfected Li Xun πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘and I bet nobody else would have done it like him!
However, I do have a problem with the writing towards the end.

What happened to the ultimate showdown writers???? As much as I expected a happily ever after for our lead couple, I was also very much invested in the IT struggle which tbf had more focus throughout the drama.
I dont think Gao's jealous, hurtful and vindictive actions could ever be justified due to Li Xun stepping on his ego! His actions caused the death of his sister, send him to jail for 3 years and he lost his company as well!!!! Then you have the audacity to try to draw viewers sympathy by giving Gao brain cancer, really!πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. I have never wanted to explode at my screen for such melodramatic and cliche writing before. Gao's own inferiority complex was his own fault from the beginning. In life, we need to accept that there'll always be people who are better than us, some dont even deserve what they have but thats life! At least Li Xun, as arrogant as he was, he actually had the talent to walk the talk.

In my own experience, nothing good ever comes out of being envious of others. Allowing that seed to grow will only make you hurt them and there's no way you can control the actual consequences. Gao is the type of character I have no sympathy for in real life I'm sorry to say! How can 'I will involve people who have nothing to do with our fight, and then send you to jail and steal your company whilst pretending to be your friend because you stepped on my ego' deserve any form of forgiveness???
I am an INFJ, I'll either revenge or doorslam you! Get away from me satan!

I had told myself I now have a PHD in watching heartbreaking asian dramas, I will not shed a tear no matter what!!!!…
I dare say this is the best xianxia I have ever watched!!! I watched every episode from the beginning up until the end, without skipping! For me thats saying something as cdramas tend to be too long and feel really draggy. I loved Story of Minglan, The rise of the phoenixes, The legend of Fei but I still had to skip some of their draggy parts.
The overall production was really high quality and even better on Netflix. I am so glad I finally got around to watching it ❀️

in ep04, why was it either or situation? why was it either proving queen's innocence, or dethroning queen dowager?…
I suppose this response might be long overdue but I would think accusing the queen dowager of any wrongdoing would be met with a lot of backlash since she had a lot of backers. The queen didn't have much support because her own father had been accused of a crime if I recall correctly. Therefore the likelihood of anyone defending the queen was very low, which would put the king in a very difficult position if not handled well. Thats why it wasn't so simple.

Nice to see a FL dressing up....have had enough with female leads in frumpy clothes! And yes, the drama is silly (but not too illogical), chaotic and fun to watch. Reminds me of Extraordinary you

I somehow accidentally stumbled on the anime on YouTube a few days ago. It was alright for a younger audience perhaps though it didn't do much to explain Li Xun and his toxic behaviour. It was a bit too PG. So when I saw that it had a drama version airing I sort of ignored cause I thought it would just be a bit of a snooze for me. I then somehow ended up watching the drama and I have to say that for a modern cdrama (I usually watch ancient), it was actually done really really well. The cinematography is great plus the script writing is actually pretty decent. The best thing, the CASTING!!!! If you watched the anime you would know what I mean. Most important of all, the women arent brainless and speaking in baby voices. I also love that they added more substance to the story such that at ep 10, its still worth my time. Thanks team πŸ™
