I'm not sure I get the ending but I don't really care anymore.
Love did conquer hate, but also hope was obliterated by The Heartless Way gaining immortality.

LYX's acting was superb and made the character of Tantai Jin unforgettable.
But the precarious balance between visuals and content didn't prevail in the end, visuals won over the plot and thus closure was not delivered adequately.

Recently I became aware TikTok (which I don't use) has AI age filters which look very convincing and now I wonder if someone could make an Ai gender filter so all the straight dramas could be turned into BL . . .

Normally I dislike childish characters but the FL was utterly wholesome and enjoyable.
Pity that Li Hong seems unable to put up a convincing act, apart from posing prettily.
Story was just plain stupid though I guess the novel is not bad.

Joy of Live, Ever Night

Great deconstruction of feudal rulership.
It can only end badly, there is never a way out.
Pacing is a bit slow, but consistent with the visuals and soundtrack, 10/10 for me.

There are lots of epic romances among the older cast, sword deities and such, including tragic ones.
Of the young heros two develop a relationship, only the ML appears uninterested.

I can recommend this drama for its romantic content, just the main couple does not score.

Mr Li Hong is very pretty and gets presented in nice robes in nice settings in nice lighting at various angles all the time but I still don't get what his character Xiao Se is about actually.
The arrogance is annoying but we get accustomed to, the indifference about girls understandable as no befitting one got casted, then he walks away from becoming Emperor (right decision imo) but to where?
Is there even any blood in this youth??

This guy badly needs to get laid to wake him up and the obvious candidate of course is a certain demonic monk!

There is an extra ending episode where they meet at the very end, untamed style, before fade out...

Such a cute couple!
Plot and acting are a bit lacking, Simon Chen does well though.

I can't find a translation of the novel to verify if it is a danmei.
But every time the two MLs meet there's some erotic tension like in the bathtub scene at the start of ep2.

In reality he wanted his original boyfriend back who was killed in the massacre but that was impossible of course.
This trauma put him on the course of revenge with the real danger to get lost in it and become a demon but the purple king managed to break his shell and save him.
Of course this is just my personal interpretation, others are possible which is a good thing :-)

first and second couple live happily ever after, but third couple meets a tragic end.

I haven't found any, in the story they never meet...

IMO the hot elf king (Wang Rui Chang as Yaoluoge Pusa) and Mr Chin the swordsman (Liu Hai Kuan as Situ Lang Lang) would make the perfect BL-couple.
The former delivers perfect dancing performance in health-oriented video clips, has his own royal court but is still single while the latter is a top notch martial artist and has just managed to adopt the cutest little daughter.

As Kids they train together but after growing up they join opposite factions (don't remember which episode) so their stories diverge with occasional encounters.

It's a long time that I watched this but there were quite some intensive moments, but not in every episode.
Especially Dong Soo's attempts at girls were annoying to me.
I think when the story fails to get you hooked you should just fast forward to the next boys scene :-)

The bromance is masked in rivalry and somehow hard to watch because they are missing every chance to come together and realize what they mean to each other, until it is too late.
I was able to make it through the whole thing only because of those two gorgeous actors providing sufficient eye candy regardless of the story :p

Well, yes, but shows like Men With Sword and of course The Untamed have demonstrated how to get the spirit past censorship.
But Mr Chan the producer seems to not have bothered about this topic and did't do justice to the original imho.

Though this is a nearly flawless production and Darren Chen makes such an adorable Tang Fan, I'm really disappointed that the main BL romance was tamed down into insignificance.
Somehow they care for each other and save each others lives repeatedly but without showing real passionate desire (the untamed way).
