many scripts of cdramas are based on existing IPs (well-known and popular intellectual property (IP) — such as a bestselling novel, manhua, video game, or webtoon) but “Love’s Ambition” 许我耀眼 is a half-original script since it is only loosely adapted from 大乔小乔 novel (which is a novel with not high visibility). usually dramas based on big IPs tend to do better since they already have an established fandom who would like to see a live-action interpretation of that story! so it's quite a feat for love's ambition, a non-ip to do well amongst all the dramas

Can you explain more what you’re trying to ask? “Romance romance” as they are almost doing the romances in the whole 6 episodes but this is not an idol drama, this is an urban drama, it relates more to “real life drama” plot. There are no 100% perfect prince charming in this drama. Both ML and FL are full of flaws, they both are schemers , you will see ML’s pov later on
