Her dad was diagnosed with cancer and it was very serious but the production wouldn't let her take time off to go home. Her grandpa was critically ill but all anyone asked was whether she would attend some big event. People spread rumors that she didn’t announce things officially or that she delayed announcements just to secure a better billing position.
When she finally saw her dad for the first time after his cancer diagnosis, it was at her grandfather’s funeral.
She was finally allowed to take time off and go home but during her layover in Hangzhou, people started spreading rumors that she skipped work to go to a concert. In fact, she was only given 3 days off. on the first day back, the production team scheduled an all-night wedding scene for her to shoot.
Following after, the two dogs (Midou and Pingan) who had been with her family for so long also passed away.
Even now, she still tears up when she talks about it. She didn’t mention anything at the time because she thought getting attention for personal matters on the Hot Search wasn’t appropriate, especially when it wasn’t related to the drama. She also didn’t want people to use her most vulnerable moments to hurt her 💔
