vertical dramas are fun to watch to be honest and this one as well leaves me wanting more
they are. its always rage bait and cliffhanger and that's how it keeps you hooked. this is the same. tho I'm wondering how it will still stay as interesting after episode 16...

exactly, like they FORCE tension instead of writing a script that naturally drives it... i personally would love a REAL red flag/ black flag ML, its different, its complicated and feels more real than the absolute perfect hubby that just wears all-black sort of thing, but i've almost never ever seen it. They are always misunderstood and are actually never bad at all. If a ML is really bad and not just posing, I, as a watcher, would actually find it very hard to like him, and it would genuinely take a lot for me to accept a romance between him and the FL, but imo that's a very good experience while watching these kinds of dramas. We're here for the messy drama and angst. We're here to see how on earth could love ever bloom between these two. But how it ends up is like the writers love the costume of a red flag man but are afraid of the actual thing. I think bcs of their lack of commitment everything feels cheap. and unfortunately nothing has been original or interesting enough to get me hooked and interested... I think i'll continue to hate watch a bit though lol bcs I like the actors...
It is to romanticize torture and abuse and normalise transition to simping and doormat ml ,slaps always ml, misunderstood…
exactly like it ha no substance or nuance, they are all the same, the characters are just recycled and don't have anything that would immediately make you distinguish them between like 20 other ML/FLs in the same kind of dramas. retelling tropes isn't the problem, its the lack of originality in its entirety
the production quality is good... but why is the writing of republic era dramas always weird or cringe 😭 its the same with overdo and literally all the other lower quality dramas in this genre
What the hell was that plot point in episode 12 and 13... Like the misunderstanding plot point before this was already stupid and out of character for the leads but I just shrugged through it bcs they apparently always have to do this when they are doing a romance or else good forbid there will be no other way to create tension... But now what her father did something wrong, her mother paid for it and we should just shrug that the ML is protecting the guy who did it??? Her mother was still innocent! And that dude still killed her and wasn't even remorseful even though he knew she was innocent. Why would FL suddenly feel bad if she hurt him after knowing her father did something wrong?? Her mother was still wrongfully killed...
