On episode 4 and I'm really really enjoying this, it feels so fresh and the way the characters are brought together don't feel forced at all the plot is pretty strong until now, there are some convenient things happening here and there but definitely not distracting. I truly hope they go with this all the way and allow their romance to blossom naturally instead of forcing it.
But one thing, which is just my bias,... I don't feel the chemistry as much as I did with Sun Jae (I have to mention him im so sorry I love him sm ðŸ˜
Xu Kai is an impressive actor and for any actor you can see their genius in emotional roles and scenes. He nails…
I know he's a good actor, I like him a lot. What im mainly saying is that he has chosen very similar characters in the recent years. Majority are this stoic, cool and less expressive characters. It makes it feel like he's being type casted. Of course I have to say I have yet to see a couple of his previous works before this one but from all the clips and trailers I saw the majority of the characters gave me similar vibes.
i just could never fully connect with the story. this is my personal opinion but i don't think it was done well. The acting is the only saving grace other than that I didn't really care much for the couple, the story or anything else
The character design is different. His character here is the taoist priest with years of living up the mountain.…
yes, i definitely know, his lack of expression was perfect for the character in the beginning and middle, I've rated this show quite high actually and it will remain that way unless they mess up the ending. but I'm almost at the end of the show (episode 32) and even though he's supposed to be showing strong feelings he isn't. I compared his acting with a couple of his other roles and they're all just the same, like he's just either being type casted, or its just his new way of acting now that he's gotten famous (which works against him imo).
From the top of my head, The Legends, Yanxi Palace, this series, and a couple of clips I've seen from "Falling into Your Smile", he's just... "mini-expression" everywhere. I guess it stands out a lot in this series cuz TXW has very dynamic expressions, like she's extremely sad and crying while he is just.. teardrop with a slight eyebrow twitch. He's a taoist, its his character, I kind of get it... but then it makes it very difficult to believe he actually loves her and ruins the chemistry now that they are together. It almost feels forced.
I've watched half of WOL (i put it on hold for some reason i plan to get back to it), i remember I really really liked his dynamic there with the FL and their chemistry.
I really like Xu Kai since his bald egg days, but recently I'm noticing something... he doesn't have many facial expressions does he? :/ like i look back at arsenal military academy and he was expressions galore... why did he change that :(
p.s. not particularly just in this show. but majority of his recent shows
finally got to episode 25 and this Xi Yang is literally giving me an aneurysm, girl if u need to get laid, YOURE A PRINCESS!!! anyone would do... and the way you're surprised how the dude is proving everything your brother said he would be ....
i really liked the beginning of the show and how they truly are enemies to lovers, but the story, as always, is getting weaker and weaker...
gonna watch a few others before i return to finish this
I'm not used to these kind of dramas because its really ridiculous the things that happened in episode 3... its just a bunch of scenes connected to each other randomly and they just... walk out? Like... you're in the middle of a contest, you just ran out? then you're in a car chase, you somehow lose him and then are seamlessly merged into a car race thing? and then you get money, what??? WHAT????
I'm looking forward to this one! Such a fresh take on both lead's being transmigrated, reminds me a little of a dream within a dream with the author and the FL
poor jeaoh dies, basically for no reason they don't actually use his death for anything, junseo also decides to ruin ajin and die together but only he dies.... -_-
