I mean being a top on Netflix explains this series well... It was a big disappointment. Very few top Netflix shows are actually good and they're the ones that get canceled if they have multiple seasons.

Thing is it has its good parts the first 3-4 eps were quite interesting but then it goes downhill from there. The story doesn't have a lot of structure, lot of questions left unanswered, lots of plot holes etc. so I speed ran through the last 4 eps just to see the ending

Yk i think if the show showed a little bit more affection from XL I also wouldn't have minded his character much. we have a lot of abusive/manipulative/not-nice-guy characters that i like. I haven't read the novel so idk if he feels more affectionate as you read about him but the show kinda felt like it was saying: “this guy right here…bad/abusive … dont like him no,no…because we cant have a woman having multiple lovers, no. Unspeakable!” Lmao 😂
U can definitely feel the sexual tension between them even with all the censorship but thats nowhere near enough for someone to want to be with another FOREVER for that reason alone. it would have been nice if they delved deeper into their complex relationship . all i got was a few seemingly random interactions of them talking about how lonely they are and no one understands them and then hes suddenly taking the bug for her. I guess its less the writing and more how the show depicted the relationship.

Yh when u explain it like this it does make more sense. And by coward I was mostly pointing at him being reluctant to do things straight away, like why does it take 15 years to break an engagement, or why must he leave her side to take care of some "matters", etc.
I understand he went through several years of trauma and might be reluctant to directly go against his bro, and he also doesn't want any sort of retribution for the horrifying things that guy has done to him (this part doesn't go with my personality lol it's more of a nitpick)but at the end I feel like he is a bit too weak for the FMC and her personality (although I think he is really cute with his relationship with her)
