The first episode was a great introduction to the characters. I am probably going to binge watch this drama. My husband ( who isn’t a great fan for Asian historical dramas is sticking around for episode 2. Why did I wait so long to start watching..

Wu Meiniang has finally grown into the woman that Taizong was molding her to be and moves further away from what Zhinu loves. As Zhaoyi, she moves to take control of the harem and wreak revenge on who she assumes killed her baby. Gaoyang’s multi-focal plans for revenge on her father become more coherent. She, it seems, was fher father’s most deadly and smartest heir.

This episode jelled my interest in season 2. Enough of the story lines, investigative threads start to pull together so you start to see the core story emerge. If you are thinking of dropping the show, try to get to this episode.

One of my favorite episodes especially meeting the parents. The play between friends, co-workers, ass-holes, parents, children and siblings you get anything but an ordinary life.

The Great Ye give mean girl the cut direct. I don’t think she got message and this is the second time she’s been put down by him. An explanation by Yu Sheng has Bei Erduo rethinking her that the Great Ye may not have had a hand in the unfair job audition she had when they first met. The dance rehearsal opening with the couples sitting on a bench could be a metaphor for their relationship at this stage. Everyone else is sitting very close and they are far apart but still on the same bench. The accidental kiss happens here and I have to admit I like the way they did it. Was it their first kiss ever?The Great Ye doesn’t know it yet but He has already let Erduo behind his walls. He went overboard (expressionless) in buying something for Erdou and there was a crack of irritation when he sees her meeting the officious Dr Chen and of course he rescues her, defends her ardent opinion regarding the art of anime and gives her a ride home this time.

She was late 11 minutes and he docked her from the hour that Lizi had set up. Erduo’s mission, be romantic, increase passion, and get a photo for Weibo. Her face says it all. The Great Yu stepped up when Erduo was being harassed by mean girl. Still no smile from the Great Yu. Erduo reminds me of the main female lead, Moon Geun-young. She is a more grown up version of the character at this point. Haunted House has potential for lots of body contact.

Great intro to characters and plot. I’ve got to see how this romance develops . An ice cube has nothing on the Great Yu and you already see the complexity in ErDuo’s personality.
