I feel bad for both ZLH and Reba because this is the second season him and Reba keep getting stuck in some weird love story thing with their characters even though they absolutely make the best of it and add lib and laugh and stuff, you could tell that it’s kind of starting to wear thin.

I agree when they talked over the chess game I think the grandmother had all the right points and I also think that she thinks FL can be the one to do it. She cares about her grandson deeply and doesn’t want him to fly into an abyss of hatred. As she said, you can kill the entire world doesn’t bring anyone back. So ML needs love, compassion, the ability to trust someone unconditionally someone he can love who loves him back.

The part where she hugs him toward the end while he’s shaking due to his PTSD, which is so obvious was very beautifully done. And I agree with the OP below, only his grandmother sees that he needs to let go of his obsession and vengeance in order to live truly because right now he’s just existing and soaking up the hatred of the past. She wants him to be happy and not fight in any more wars. I think she sees that ability of the FL to tame this wild horse and also heal him through love and a different kind of protection.

Very well said. I was going to write something along the same lines. I think grandma also sees the potential in FL to be that grounding rod for ML.
