I actually just was re-watching the roof scene and I realized that during that last moment where SY was coming in for the hug and SML put the handcuffs in between the two of them he was not looking SY in the eyes. While SY was looking at him in the eyes, SML was looking at the handcuffs or SY’s nose. He couldn’t even bring himself to look him in the eyes because of how painful all of that was. At first, I thought maybe the actors weren’t together and this was an edited scene where you kinda have an understanding of where the other person’s eyes are as they do sometimes. But no, it was one continuous shot. So that told you everything you wanted to know about how different the thought processes were between SY and SML.
Just saw them mention it on Weibo and then saw a video on DY. It was too dark for photos, but at least they managed to catch him on video. I don’t want to see him early in the morning. Or anybody else if they finished around this time or are still filming.
I hope there are not 50 people as supporting an extras just because it’s ridiculous. You won’t know who’s who and why when the story is told. I think GJM if this is true has gone overboard.
OK, so I watched that scene that everyone has been complaining about and here are my thoughts ⬇️:
Yes, the jumping over the edge of the building was anti-climactic but at the same time I’m not really surprised because this man has been a coward all his life. I do think that he was still trying to manipulate SML with all of that talk of his childhood and “oh how can you only look at me as a murderer and not all the love that I have shown you.” It was super cringe honestly because at that point after everything that he had done to the SML to harm him, even though in his mind, it was love. The manipulation just wasn’t working anymore. Furthermore, he kept referring to all the people that he killed, including ML‘s family as cases. To him they weren’t even people. And he was admonishing SML for not being able to talk to him about his childhood and how much he loved him, but only about the “cases“. Just shows you how completely detached from human beings and reality of them he really was. And I don’t believe for a second that a doctor told him to erase SML‘s memories completely or keep him from remembering, and to drug him all his life. There isn’t a single doctor that would say that to someone. So that’s a lie right there. I also agree with someone who said that with that last “hug“ he probably would’ve taken SML with him. You could see the switch between the “father figure“ with that eerie smile to the madman psychopath just before he leaped off the edge screaming “no one gets to judge me but myself.” He’s essentially full of shit when SML kept asking him, “Why did you do this? Why did you kill them?” He kept blaming other people; “so and so framed me so and so did this to me;” he never once took responsibility for anything he did. He had a zillion opportunities to stop, but he didn’t. It might’ve started with those other people, but everything else is on him.
Now about people saying that SML didn’t show the proper emotion or whatever is proper to grieve. I have to disagree and stick to my pre-watch point. For starters, he cried on that rooftop he was in shock. He was doing everything in his power to hold himself. He was trying to bring SY in alive so that in his eyes, SY could redeem himself. But SY denied his supposed beloved son of even that. Plus, remember when he first learned about his real identity, how much shock and grief and despair he was in so I essentially took that as him understanding that the father that he thought he knew was dead to him. Then after a period of time, he came down and sat on the sidewalk or whatever and when ML came over to him, he called ML by his real name. And yes, he did smile a little, but the smile never reached his eyes it was like a confirmation smile. You could see that his eyes were essentially dead or glazed over. So I don’t really understand why people are complaining that he didn’t grieve properly. What exactly was he supposed to grieve over? The monster he’s been chasing all this time? He’s done that. Now will continue watching and see what happens with the other arcs and I guess the final one.
I think CHS is one too. Similar forehead art as YA. But these twins are so random lol. GJM better not cast any more extras. They need to wrap this before summer starts 🤦🏻♀️.
