He has a sweet tongue , So sometimes it does seem like he has feelings. But he hasn't (:
Their reunion scene? Is that when he inlists her company's help to pick a proposal spot "for his gf"? His way of feeling out whether she still has feelings for him or whatever? Nothing about life is peaches and roses, they actually got off easy lol.
No one knows but it's obvious that everyone except Xiaoju was in on the plan. Tao Tao is the bestest friend ever.
Maybe he wants her to be jealous, who knows? Instead of him being the jealous one all the time. In reading the episode guide, there are a lot of childish moments; she stands him up then vice versa. When you're not honest to yourself about your own feelings or don't "confess", things like this happen.

And sad as it were, maybe it's best thing for her for that time period. He more then hell made up for it, didn't he? They're both flawed characters and go by way of China (no pun intended) to get their thoughts out. Possibly also stoned writers lol.
I think she ended up with the right man for her. Too bad CL remained single out of the original bunch but I'm sure he'll find himself his other half at some point too.

Not entirely gave up since she did accept his proposal right? And how was she supposed to chase after him? Travel to Zurich? Common sense says time apart was needed. The proposal was meant to be just the way it was for this particular couple. I don't see anything cringey, cliche, or tropey. I'm sure it could have been written better, but the end does justify the means. But I'll elaborate more on my thoughts as I continue watching.
I think I'll stick this drama on hold for a while. Hopefully you guys can spoil how bad all the pettiness and palace politics get; if they're really bad, I'm dropping it. Cute moments of leads aren't enough to hold me this time especially when the entire world is against them. Thanks ahead of time.
I haven't gotten to that part yet but I can't say I hate him either because it's life. You don't always end up with who you went to HS or college with. He screwed up and paid the price. Hope he learns from it and meets someone in his own league.

But he's always been impulsive. From day one. Thinking shit through wasn't really his style. He had to figure out what kind of man he was and grow not follow a woman who wouldn't give him the time of day over her own confusion forever. It's kind of like running away from home but with a purpose, if that makes any sense. No clue why it had to be 5 years and not 1 or 2 as that just seems like overkill but clearly feelings and emotions didn't change.

So cheesy. Lol I'm guessing the whole Shen chick thing was either a ruse or very quickly didn't work out because he can't possibly go from loving one woman to dating another. Just a life experience.
I've done that with a few shows lol. I was just thinking that the dude HJ got himself left out in the cold due to his actions and the song "Skater Boi" by Avril Lavigne popped into my head but reverse lyrics; like "sorry boy but you missed out, too bad that you didn't see, see the woman that girl could be (in reference to Tao Tao), there is more then meets the eye, Boa Boa sees the song that is inside (and appreciates it)."

Hell yeah! To let your own happiest day be completely overshadowed by this, I've never seen anything like it. I'm guessing his return wasn't just for the wedding either. I think he left-misunderstandings aside-to get a clean break from her, to step out of his father's shadow, and to see how much he could accomplish on his own. The time put a lot into perspective for him, including that she was his soulmate and he couldn't be without her. Just my guess without watching 20-35 lol.

Now that was *chef's kiss*. Though did she really need to grumble "don't you have a girlfriend" when he practically laid his soul bare for her? That was such a childish thing to retort 🤦🏻♀️.
