The screenwriter dropped the ball. But ppl shouldn't blame the actors. They did a pretty good job considering what they were reading and not even knowing that the script was a mess.

I didn't watch JOL. But JOL and DC are different kinds of costume dramas hence when ppl compare them, it doesn't fit. I'm a professional writer/editor among other things but ive been around my share of screenplays. In general, I feel that comparing series with different premises just doesn't make sense. But again that's just me.

Actors don't act on their own. They have to do it off a script. There was only one screenwriter and he's considered good. Maybe this kind of a show isn't for him. Not all costume dramas are the same.
