On Immortal Samsara: Part 1 Feb 18, 2022
Upcoming Chinese costume dramas like "Imperial Cuisine" with actor Xu Kai & actress Wu Jin Yan as main couple and also "Who Rules The World" with actor Yang Yang & actress Zhao Lu Si as main couple get cut out to just 40 episodes because the current rule limit Chinese dramas to 40 episodes per drama.

So I wonder if anyone know how many episode this drama "Immortal Samsara" was filming originally?

Was this drama filming for more than 40 episodes and will get cut out just like "Imperial Cuisine" and "Who Rules The World" or it has been filming for just 40 episodes originally?

The synopsis:
"Due to a mix up, the two sisters are married off to the wrong husbands."

So, the novel are about love stories between both princesses and their husbands?
Or about both princesses and their fiancés and finally they will get married in the end?

40 episodes from the beginning.
Thank you!
Chen Xing Xu is a great actor that look good in costume clothes and also has a beautiful finger haha so actually I won't mind to watch him even in a drama with 100 episodes LOL

I read that he will act as more than one character in this drama so I'm super excited!

I've been mulling over a post I want to write about Gorya smacking at Thyme because, to be honest, I think it…
These kind of scenes are quite prevalent in Asian dramas sometimes even in historical genre.

Mother/wife/lover sometime even female friend pinching, smacking or pulling the men ear in Asian dramas.

Some of these scenes happen in drama because the men "talk big/bragging" in front of public or acting childish but still, these scenes are not getting scrutinize more compared to whenever men did it even it is just a joke.

That's why I think we still need to remember the important thing, that this is just a drama.

In real life:
1)if you meet men like Thyme, you should stay awayyy not slowly fall in love LOL
2)women shouldn't normalize all those pinching, smacking, pulling ear etc behavior to men, because forget men, even women will feel uncomfortable/annoyed/angry if another women doing that kind of things to them well unless you are just joking with people that very close to you and they don't mind/comfortable with that kind of behavior.

I don't condone any violence in real life okay but if people really want to complain about "violence" scenes then we need to compare between all scenes of Thyme bullying/almost hitting her etc vs all scenes of Gorya hitting/smacking/punching/pulling his ear in this drama.

This is only in episode 8:
https://twitter.com/jeonnysl/status/1492721369951485955

Yes, men are stronger than women but if people truly want to be fair about violence scene, people should condemn both sides right?
I mean, Gorya smacking Thyme in almost every episodes?
Is it because Gorya a woman so she get pass for this in the drama?

I always me wonder about this:
What is the line that should not be cross for "violence" for men to women and women to men that make them deserve each other as romantic pair in a drama?

What I want to say are:
1)No matter what, the most important thing is to remember that this is a drama.
2)This is an adaptation based on Japanese shoujo manga in 1992 (30 years ago)
3)If you really can't watch this drama because the bullying scene etc, it's fine because this is just a drama and everyone has their own preference

Since I already watch the Taiwan/Japan/Korea/China adaptations, my opinion about this adaptation are:
1)Thailand adaptation really do their best by giving Thyme character more depth
2)In here I could understand how Gorya fallen for Thyme than the typical "because he is the main male lead" because their interactions in each episode
3)Gorya is truly a match for Thyme, I'm rooting for them

Fangirling over "Gorya put her hand on Thyme back while wearing her school shoe" scene

I will watch this drama since I like Bai Lu and she has good chemistry with Luo Yun Xi in their previous drama.

From behind the scene pictures of this drama, their costumes here are very good and kinda different.

Usually I see main couples in Chinese costume dramas that involve fairy, demon, immortal and etc wear pastel color costumes and they are usually, blue, pink, white, yellow while the dark color costumes are for evil character or if the character become evil.

The color of Bai Lu costumes here are more striking and stand out if you understand what I mean.

Not only that, I also really like her headdress. The headdress especially the one with bead/jewelry on the forehead is my top favourite of women style in Chinese costume dramas.

Well, I get to know about some info of costume designer for this drama:

Anyone know the total episodes this drama crew were filming originally?
I mean the current rule limited the Chinese drama to 40 episodes right?

Was this drama filming 40 episodes from the beginning or more than 40 and it will get cut out when airing?

Chinese costume dramas that get cut out to 40 episodes that I know:
a)Rebirth For You (2021)
Main actor: Joseph Zheng
Main actress: Ju Jing Yi

b)Imperial Cuisine (upcoming)
Main actor: Xu Kai
Main actress: Wu Jin Yan

c)Who Rules The World (upcoming)
Main actor: Yang Yang
Main actress: Zhao Lu Si

So I'm curious about this drama.

Nani replied : I always choose you bro

One thing I like about Thailand actors & actresses interactions between their co-stars compared to Korean/Chinese actors/actresses are they are more open to be friendly with each other, like joking with each other on twitter, posted their off screen pic together on their ig to promote their projects.

I don't mean that the Korean and Chinese actors & actresses never do that too but nowadays many fans including non Korean & Chinese fans of Korean & Chinese dramas being really toxic with their shipping fantasies until many Korean/Chinese actors/actresses being stiff or cautious with their co-star in their off screen interactions haish

There are toxic fans of Thailand dramas too but many of them are BL fans since usually Thailand BL series are more popular among youngster of non Thailand fans

Btw, I wonder how Bright & Tu onscreen kiss in this drama gonna be LOL
Since their characters are still in school, their kiss will be little uh tame?
Bright kiss scene in Social Death Vote give me a bit hope but this is Tu first onscreen kiss so T_T

I can't understand how teenagers are loving this shit. It's vulgar, objectifies woman and rationalises bullying…
This drama is an adaptation from a famous Japanese shoujo manga, Hana Yori Dango (1992) by Yoko Kamio and this is not the first adaptation.
There are anime, movie and dramas adaptations before this Thailand adaptation.

Other dramas adaptation:
1) Meteor Garden (2001) - Taiwan
Main actor : Jerry Yan as Dao Ming Si
Main actress: Barbie Hsu as Dong Shan Cai

2) Hana Yori Dango (2005) - Japan
Main actor : Matsumoto Jun as Domyoji Tsukasa
Main actress: Inoue Mao as Makino Tsukushi

3) Boys Over Flowers (2009) - Korea
Main actor : Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo
Main actress: Gu Hye Sun as Geum Jan Di

4) Meteor Garden (2018) - China
Main actor : Dylan Wang as Dao Ming Si
Main actress: Shen Yue as Dong Shan Cai

5) F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021) - Thailand

I read the manga, watch all above dramas adaptations and I tell you what, Thyme in this F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers is the softest version of main male lead and has more character development compared to main male leads in those adaptations.

But everyone have their own preferences. If you don't like this kind of drama then you don't have to force yourself to watch it.

The reader who read the original novel mentioned that Ding Yu Xi character is cunning and quite jerk too like Li Cheng Yin in Goodbye My Princess.

Yet he still get happy ending with his wife (Peng Xiao Ran character).
I guess not killing your wife relatives and destroyed her hometown help your ending fate.

But the reader also mentioned that Peng Xiao Ran character is smart and cunning too to counter-attack her husband plans and tactics.

I hope this drama production doesn't make her character to become less smart or dumb.

Why can't drama productions produce more smart/cunning/sly character as main female lead in these Asian dramas with romance genre? Especially in a historical setting where as we already informed they have to survive through more hardship in their life?

More characters like Wei Ying Luo (Story Of Yanxi Palace) and Sheng Ming Lan (The Story Of Minglan) in Chinese costume dramas please!
