It was a really good KR movie! I was surprised! It's always a little frustating to watch the characters like we're at ep 10 when we're at ep 30, but anyway, the story was touching & action-packed (even though full of plot holes when ZiO has something to do, but I'm used to it at this point).
I'm not a big fan of ZiO, so I was a little scared, but Aruto was so good I forgot everything else.
I will not defend The Heirs which is the weakest LMH drama in my opinion (from a personal dislike to the love…
"personnal hatred" wow, that's a little harsh. No, a lot. I don't have a personnal hatred against any actor in this world, I think. I already explained what I didn't like, and it's not only LMH, even though he's part of it. There really is not a lot of dramas where just an actor can make myself don't like it. If it's just one actor, then I just kinda skip his scenes, and there are always good secondary characters. I watched all of The Heirs, even if BOTH leads were horrible, so just LMH wouldn't make me drop a drama.
I'm not saying that The King is better than The Heirs, but I actually expected something from TK. At least good acting, good characters and entertainment, bc that is what the writer is famous for. And that is why I enjoyed her other shows. But here, even Kim Go Eun, who I love, is ..... I don't know. Not convincing? And the plot, Mr.Sunshine was so much well written than all of her other shows, so I don't know how it came to this. At least, even if the plot writing was meh, the dialogues were funny and entertaining, the chemistry sparkling. But here, it was sacrificed for a more serious(?) atmosphere that doesn't go well at all with the "too-much" that is happening.
I don't know what more can I watch to find it not obscure like you, when I already watched all of the episodes that are out.
PS: Arrrrrrrrrgh!! You can't imagine how hard to was to reply!! My comment was always cut, so I had to delete, edit, re-write, delete, edit, re-write. I was going crazy !! Sorry if there was thousand of notifications ... --'
I forced myself to watch the first 4 episodes, but I'm done. Even the end of ep 4 didn't convince me, or even interest me.
The acting of the lead is poor, the romantic chemistry non-existent, the characters one dimensionnal at best, the show takes itself way too seriously, and OMG it feels like the drama is screaming "I AM A SMART AND WELL THOUGHT DRAMA" when it's... not. Being obscure and frustating isn't intelligent.
I though (prayed) for this drama to reconcile me with Lee MinHo after the traumatic experience that was The Heirs, but it's a big fail.
though I agree, it'd be worse to cast young actors to play the older versions xDeven though Greg Hsu was great,…
Maybe for those actors, but there are a lot of cases where they can do it.
If the drama's team do some efforts to not JUST put glasses on actors, or change hairstyle, but really change the way they move, talk, and maybe adding some white/grey hairs, and wrinkle if you're going for really old? I saw a lot of dramas doing it successfully.
I would prefer seeing a 23 yo doing a 18 & 30 yo. More than a 30 yo playing a 18 yo & 30 yo.
I don't know the 3rd drama, but I AGREE SO MUCH WITH THE FIRST 2 !!!
Even as internationnal viewers, I think we are very cold to female characters, and way too forgiving to male ones. I don't remember a lot about Cunning Single Lady, but I remember being VERY annoyed by the way she was portrayed as the "villain". And at some point a "pitiful villain" but still the villain. And that he was the "good guy". It made me go crazy.
And for Doctor Stranger, I re-watched it earlier this year. I remember liking the SFL better the first time I watched it years ago. But now, I'm like, HOW? She doesn't really knows what she wants, and wasn't clear with her fiancé. I was even annoyed at some point by the hero, who put HIS work ethics, when JaeHee was doing everything to save them from hiw hot-bloodedness. Of course, he was right, you can't kill a patient to save yourself and the love of your life, but he didn't talk to her about it, and even BLAMED her for thinking about it. I wanted to punch him.
I really don't know how to feel about this BL. It feels like a not well-done mix of old BL and new BL.
It has the cringe and bad editing of old BL, but the chemistry and quality of acting of new BL.
The actors are amazing, their chemistry is on point. The characters are also really nice, everybody, the boys and the girls are so cool. No unnecessary bad guy or bad girl.
But the editing is SO CRINGY. Music everywhere, or sound effect. The scenes are cut and put together without link, it's all over the place.
Zon&Saifah's relationship happens at the speed of light, Idk what happened (they're hella cute, though). And Fighter&Tutor relationship is actually interesting, and has a really nice development, but it is overly sexualized.
There really is a lot of sex, or very hot scenes between those 2, when clearly we don't need that much. Strangely, I think that TharnType and Together with Me are a lot more hot even though they don't have half the kissing of this show. Even if I'm not comparing to another show, I can say that the begining was way more hot than those few episodes of cringy.
I would also have liked for them to talk to Hwahwa BEFORE going on this vacation to test their feelings. Even if she wasn't really in love with Fighter and has now a REALLY CUTE boyfriend.
The worse is that I actually enjoy this show, and I know that episode 10 is too much because they needed to find a solution for the pandemic.
ANYWAY, it's a cute show, and a good BL, with amazing casting, but way too cringy, and it takes itself a little too seriously even though it's not.
It was beautiful.
In a very ZiO fashion, it's full of plot holes, and plot armor out of nowhere, really. ^^'

Yep !! Really solid KR movie!

Are you sure you're talking about "Forgotten" with Kang HaNeul?
Just to be sure, I double-checked with google, but kisskh isn't wrong.

It was pretty cringy, too. Same for Go Go Squid.
They're always weirdly changing, and sometimes, the ratings I see are differents than the one others see.

I laughed so much at the ending part of ep 4 !! Is he gonna be with his childhood friend sister AGAIN ? XD
And I'm rooting for Captain Ahn !
