I understand your dilemma, honestly if there’s nothing that grasps your attention at episode 3 I don’t know if the rest of it will, I liked Leo Wu’s micro expressions and that made me want to keep watching, although it’s a little slow for my taste I admit as well, I am at episode 7 this very moment and I also feel I might just give it a rest for now and pick up something more exciting. Honestly it’s on you whether you like it or not, and as much as you want to like it, if nothing keeps your interest in it you just won’t. I feel for me it might be due to bad acting of all the background characters, it keeps me from immersing myself in the story. 🥹

Is it a sad ending?

Yeah I guess it just doesn’t click for us, for me especially because I’ve seen so much reincarnation shit at this point in life, this doesn’t feel new to me. Maybe it’s interesting for someone who doesn’t watch much of that, and it makes them thing the FL is this complex, well thought out character who plots and comes up with new easy and clever tricks to outlive her previous self, where as I haven’t seen a clever thought from her at all. Everything she’s done so far has been done before in other dramas, but executed as million times better. 😂 maybe I’m just being too judgmental or bias but for me plot and story is just as important as characters. God, I really wish they done more with the FML’s role, she is the main character after all!

You know I kinda agree with you I’m on ep 5 and I just feel like for Bai Lu isn’t the best at playing the FL, I don’t feel anything from her acting, she feels disingenuous and I get a sense of disconnect even when she’s nice to other characters (usually actions like this makes me love a character so much) but with her I just don’t feel anything. I’m practically forcing myself to watch because people say so many good things about it, and I see why they would. The ML and SML absolutely smashing it and I feel a genuine connect with their characters, I can see their motivations from the get go and I see why they would carry out some of their actions. I just don’t see what they see in the FL, Yan Li for example is so very in love with Xue Ning but I don’t see the explanation as to what lead him catching feelings for her. I also like the theme of rebirth it’s actually my favourite theme ever. But here I don’t see any new twist to the way the story is told. Bai Lu keep putting me off, but the male lead makes me want to watch it so bad. But Bai Lu really is a pain… and you know my time is my time I decide what to do with it, I won’t waste it something I can’t feel excitement for.

For real, 100%, fighting for oxygen between full on ugly crying was enough experience for one year, gotta spare some tears for special occasions 😂

If the recommendations to be believed, if it’s anything close to ‘goodbye my princess’, then definitely no. But I just go based on the clues I actually never seen it.

Agree 100% by the end of the dream arc I was slamming my head into the wall, I was hoping for a good character development but no of course we get an extra steaming pile of complete nonsense. By the end I couldn’t even feel sympathy for the two leads, that’s how bored I got of them dying on each other all over the place. Like if you’re going to use the star-cross lovers trope, give it to us with a bang, and don’t over use it for goodness sake!? Who would’ve thought you can over use this trope, but I guess we all have to experience terrible writing like this at least once.

I think his actually quiet perfect for this role, they very cute together, he’s definitely not too old, FL is 30+ (IRL), so I’m not sure why people complain about the gap.
