OAN, I wish the translation were better as neither fake or useless really fit. I guess it makes sense to Mandarin speakers. Oh well.

In episode 1, the master looks like he wants to eat up Han Li with a spoon. Like is it carnal or food hunger? LOL

Episode 19

Wan was so on point when she was talking about wife-beating, character of the perpetrator, and the impact on the family.

So much carnage. It kind of felt like the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones.

The emperor is so smart but can't see that the Crown Prince is a sociopath. I hope this is explained at some point.

The king and the wicked shaman were the very best parts of a very good series.

They were kind of getting hot & bothered at the inn until Youn Gap's mother showed up.

We have to give Kim Sang Ho his props too as the villain of the piece. He was oddly endearing.

I have no recollection whatsoever of that man. So needless to say, the reveal meant nothing to me.

No wonder we're all a bit confused.

It makes sense that you'd think that because he's the king's maternal grandfather. However the dowager is not his bio mother.

So he's the king's grandfather, not the queen's. The Crown Prince is indeed his great-grandson.

Other than respecting the "natural order of things", even in death his motivation is still not fully clear. He was a despicable being and Yeo Ri should have let Bi Bi make a meal of him.

I understood that he's the queen's (grand)father which begs the question as to why he's having the spirit possess his (great)grandson instead of the King whose reforms he doesn't seem to support.

I really enjoyed episodes 9 & 10. They both moved the story along, made my shipper heart & the king's too squeal with glee, and - unless the show completely loses momentum - set up the last part of the series very well.

I can't wait until next Fri/Sat.
