Why are two dramas that share the same name starting at the same time? How are they related? I don’t understand! 😵‍💫

It’s very meaningful and epic, very beautiful! All the high reviews speak for themselves, don’t listen to the haters. It’s heartbreaking but still a very fitting ending, and none of the baddies win!

No, it’s actually very epic, beautiful, and moving. It’s also sad and tragic, but still beautiful nonetheless. I wasn’t disappointed at all, it’s very bittersweet but such is life and it’s still very much worth watching all the way through.

I should have researched the Chinese title of this drama! It would have clued me in about the ending: it’s from a Li Bai poem that contains the lines “from these battlefields, none have returned”.

It wouldn’t bother me if they didn’t insist on putting the lyrics in the subtitles, making it impossible to read the real subtitles!!

But is it showing on iqiyi? Where? It’s not in the list above and at least in my country, it can’t be found on iqiyi either. I wish it were there, though!

I’ve compared the different translations on Youtube (Freshdrama), Viki, and WeTV: this time, I think the WeTV translation is the best.

Zhao Lusi and Liu Yuning were actually voted favorite TV drama couple for Long Ballad that year because they totally stole the show (but you have to wait until the second half for them to take off). I’d say TLB is very much worth watching, much much better than Anle! TLB has a great epic story and many great characters, no endless irrelevant bathing scenes of annoying fake princesses. But there are also good youtube edits of only LYN and ZL scenes if you want to only watch that. I’d recommend against it, though: it needs the slow burn of how their relationship slowly changes from fear/distrust/hate/attraction to love/admiration/trust. Then their scenes at the end become really emotionally impactful and you cry for them.

Yes, but the subs are too terrible to endure there!! No idea what they were thinking. 🤨

I’m guessing iqiyi only bought the broadcasting rights for particular countries, leaving others out to save money (this is an S+ drama so the rights were probably expensive and not worth it in countries with low viewership numbers). People in those countries can still watch it directly on Linmon’s youtube channel, sadly the subtitles there aren’t great. It’s probable that the drama will be more widely available with good subs in a year or so, when the rights are no longer so expensive to get.

Viu doesn’t exist in Europe, so I literally have no option of watching this legally. 😞 So stupid of them, why spend so much money on an S+ drama and then not letting people pay for it?

Many episodes there were blocked due to copyright, which makes it impossible to understand the story. 😞
