I do understand why they changed the story. Because their are many things you can't bring to the drama, aside from the Radio and TV rules ( like even she didn't love him yet but due to the Spirit Spring affect, he has been kissing and hugging her very often. She was ok with it because she thinks it's because of the evil Spirit Spring, not knowing it's actually his deep down desire and only obsession. So they make the kisses and skin ship possible by making her obsessed with him in the drama instead. They also focus on SYS more as he is the more known actor where the novel was more about RR. For example we have her adoptive family that really loves her and that's why she has a home to return when he kissed her the very 1st time or when he lost his memory, where in the drama he was the one who "gave" her a "home". Another big reason why they have to make some changes is the limited air time. All cdrama is limited to 40 eps and in order to have all the story in the novel they probably need 80ep or more. I do think both drama and novel have their own strengths and they did their best to keep the "soul" of the story.

He looked like he wore a lot of layers too. If anything I would be more worried for the ladies.

In the novel it's actually slow burn but they can't keep the same story due to many reason so they made RR fall in love too fast. RR really only started to love SYS during his amnesia arc, which is almost at the end... SYS also took a few years to be in love with his master from wanting to kill her. They also made the FL "worse" and male lead better because he is the center as well, because RR doesn't have love brain in the novel and her cuteness makes better sense in the novel as well.

In fact in the novel, RR never regained all her memories. Both RR and MQG is the same at the core. She can pick thing up and leave it behind. The past is the past to RR and it doesn't concern her current life. Just like MQG, when she decided to sacrifice herself, she even said hurtful words to cut ties with SYS so he doesn't have any burden. But too bad she is his only obsession so it doesn't really help.
But many people feel pity for the love in their past life so the production made RR regain memory in the drama. But it's just the bonus. In fact, to me it's funny that people make RR and MQG are 2 different people while even they have the same soul. And honest no one have to like anything. So it's ok if this drama doesn't fit your taste. Because everyone has different expectation and there is no right and wrong here... But the villain romance is pretty typical in cdrama though. I meant a stupid guy and a girl with no mouth, how rare is it in cdrama? lol

I think it's funny that people tried to make them to 2 different person. To me and I'm sure to SYS, they are one person. RR is young naive MQG with less power and responsibility and doesn't need to carry everything on her shoulder alone. Give her a few years, RR will become MGQ if she has all the power again but in this life, she choose to tied herself with "family" and not be free and easy as before when she is always alone.

DW said there were over 20 kisses scenes but we have seen probably 18 the most so I'm sure a lot were filmed but still got cut out due to like limited air time. The novel has a lot more details for sure but what can they do if they only have 40 eps. I meant they did their best to change to story but still keep its soul while change it's narrative of the ML center.

There are definitely a lot of similar tropes. But I wouldn't call it predictable or not original. I meant they do a lot reversal relationship and balance in this drama. Which drama with master and disciple romance that have happy ending and balance relationship like this one? Which xianxia drama has both FL and ML like these 2, who are smart, strong, and very decisive, especially the FL like MQG/RR? Even at her weakest state, FL never waited to be saved or fell behind. She always takes lead and find solution for all the problems before anyone else. The ML is the center and most meaty character so I don't even need to mention anymore. They actually cut and changed a lot of details as there is a limit of 40 eps. Otherwise the story would be longer based on the novel

Yup the discrimination is real. They even label her as princesses because there are girls with good resource under the same label. But her resource is very normal ( mostly web drama with small budgets and supporting roles) compared to the other 2 girls (movies or big dramas with big names directors and actors and awards). Basically she got hated and bashed for ridiculous reasons.

This amnesia is also letting young MQG meets young SYS where before we have mature MQG met young YSY and mature (and guilty burdened and have an obsession with MQG) SYS met young MQG. So they can see each other at their realest self. The drama really brings the "equalness" to another level. This also allow RR or young MQG know how much SYS loved and compromised :). So later on, you will see they are more "equal" during their marriage life while he was much more inferior in love before

Not long but this amnesia is needed and fun anyway. It allows the RR to understand SYS better

It's ok to dislike or criticize a drama. You can do it once and leave it. But is it ok to become obsessed with it and spreading hate every chance you get? These days people using excuse as personal opinion just to spread hate and defend their wrong doing. What have this drama done to you so bad that you keep coming back to spread negativity and ruin the experiences to the new fans? Did it kill you or your family? Geez

Very toxic. Especially marketing acct will find all the reasons to hate, even it's baseless and unreasonable
