If you read the novel translation in trackest, in book 2 there is a part Wuji grilled fishes for Fuyao to eat. She was jokingly saying he gave her fishes then she should give him something back. Then she threw the fish bones she just finish eating at him thinking he wouldn't even touch that because how mighty royally he is... You can read that part there. There is another scene later where Wuji plea Fuyao for abandoning him and taking his money, saying the fish bone was their promising /engagement gift... It's his revenge her for leaving without saying goodbye to him in the book lol
Fuyao needs to go to different countries to collect 5 treasures in each country. In the drama she need them to unlock her seal in her body. Wuji is a crown prince of Tianquan but he basically needs to govern all 5 countries so boy is super duber busy... He can't be with Fuyao all the time but in the book he does try his best to manage everything and run to her whenever he can. So they will meet each other in every country.
