Tbh at this point, ep 16 -20 ( for VIP) the relationship has pretty much one way. Wuji keeps teasing her and because of that she doesn't seem to take him seriously or believe him. She probably doesn't want to get into a relationship too fast after what happened to the senior too.

But I do think she has some feeling for him already... It's just it's not big enough or that she isn't aware of it yet. Because he is always joking around her and is too sly that she doesn't know what is in his head.... So them making her jealous- and realizing she is in love with him is a typical way to start their relationship. That's why I anticipate they will start dating this week. Probably ep 23 -24. Still I didn't like how he acted like a jerk and make her hurt....

In the book it's a bit different how Fuyao ignore him for a longest time too. And I definitely like how the book starts their relationship better if what I predict is correct.

Not only he is "acting " close with another woman. He even dared to yell at our female lead. How dare him ? I don't allow haha. I tend to be protective of my female lead

She let them be her 2nd lead but not main lead as far as I remember.
Maybe because
1. She is mostly older than them 2. She is their boss/stock holder... so it's a bit weird to have all the skinship, kissing with them
She does bundle many Jaywalk artist in her projects even when Jaywalk didn't invest like in Fuyao. I think there are 3 Jaywalk artist there with bigger roles. In exchange, she would likely get smaller pay and probable some screen time too?

That's why I didn't mind Fuyao has more love interests to keep Wuji on this toes no matter how smart, powerful, or how mighty he is...
It's simply just that and I think it's cute when the male lead get a bit jealous too.
But they cut like 3 of Fuyao's love interests so right now she has like no one but Wuji is having a harem... Great!

The drama is very different with the book due to all the restriction so you can't tell even if you read it. They only keep the essence/core of character/ some relationships and events... The rest isn't the same LOL

Yes a lot people find his character cute because how pitiful he is after meeting Wuji. Fake crown prince, fake Yuwen Zi who will become fake king and queen... and lost the crown when he also got it lol.... Like he is in shocked and it will only get worse LOL

But LOF is on late time slot 10PM, and directly compete with World Cup. You have no idea how big it is in Asia. Like it's the only time the men take over the remote control from the house wives. And VIP has 4 ep ahead meaning they didn't have to watch TV if they want it earlier...
And it's only on Tencent. So the view is much limited
Like current Reba's sweet dreams has 2 streaming sites that mean they can have double views than LOF...

But with all that, LOF is still leading its late night slot and online views. I didn't check today's.

Of course you can compare but don'tforget to compared how different their situations are too. If LOF has golden time slot and didn't go against WC, I'd say it would do much better

. Even YM fans didn't expect much before the drama started when they look at the time slot. With all the historical dramas hold back this year, they are just happy they can watch Fuyao on TV and ignore everything.

I don't care much. But if I have to choose I would like to see the male lead being jealous and lost it not the other way around.
And I care about the dynamics of my otp. In TMOPB while Yehua and Susu's love was beautiful and innocent. He has too much power and control over her and I didn't like it... That's why I prefer YH-BQ relationship where it's more fair and equal.

Fuyao isn't stupid but she reckless. Wuju got political down since he was little kid in the book so he is at a different level.
I'm saying is in the book not matter how smart, poweful, good kungfu and rich he is he can't act like he is acting in ep 22 teaser. Because there are too many competitors who want Fuyao.
The power dynamic is unbalance. He is much smarter, richer, is way way above her right now as he is the crown prince of 5 countries, has like the best kungfu right now when she has literally nothing. She doesn't even know about her secret but he does.
That's what I'm saying he has too much power and control and she doesn't.

I just want balance in the relationship. If he has those at least she has something for him to be scare and not acting like a jerk even it's an act. In the novel he wouldn't dare...

She can't put ZLY and Reba face on her unfortunately. I can't wait for her to turn dark though. She will not look like Yang Mi then :)

If you understand all the hardship she has gone through... you would admire her even more. I started paid attention to her after TMOPB. Before that I didn't think much of her even I know she is one of the most popular actress in China. But getting to know her and what she has gone through and still able to stay on the top even now made me admire her a lot. Like she has been dealing with the uncalled hate for like 10 years and if anything wrong with her drama or anything she involved they always blame it on her... Most doesn't even make sense... Not every girl can be strong as her. And she is sassy in real life too.

Yes Douban isn't as reliable anymore especially for popular actresses since they have biggest water army/ haters. And as you said more review/rating are more of personal attacks than talking about the dramas
Douban are more fair with lesser known actors because they don't have many fans or haters. So most web dramas have better rating/reviews because of that.
But Chinese fandom culture has always been bad... I remember that TMOPB started out with 3.5 or 3.9 because of all the hate but because the drama was so good and gained huge popularity, the rating ended up above 6.
But Fuyao is more unfortunate with the time slot ( late night, smaller station, 4 episode ahead for online VIP account and especially directly compete with World cup) so it won't be as big as TMOPB but the drama isn't fall far apart im my opinion... at least at this point.

It added layers to his character and imo make his fail more funny. And how long it takes? 2 minutes or 1? You are nitpicking here

Yang Mi is doing much better in historical dramas and Negotiator wasn't even a good drama to start with. Her fans were against it from the beginning . How can you take her ad Tao as a couple seriously?

Nah those are just haters. YM is very popular but popularity come with hate. I doubt those even watched the drama. Because if you watch you would know the drama isn't bad at all and she is doing fine.
