These are really different opinions. And each of us is free to express our opinion, based on the arguments that we consider, more technical or more emotional.
As for Chinese historical and fantasy dramas in general, I disagree - there are many underrated ones that have quality and some of the most creative plots of Asian historical dramas. It is no coincidence that the two biggest hits of historical kdramas are remakes of two original cdramas: Mr Queen is a version of the cdrama Go Go Princess Go (2015); Moon Lovers is a version of the cdrama Scarlet Heart (2011), also based on a Chinese novel. But there seems to be a tradition of negative stereotypes regarding cdramas. Even if people watch few cdramas or none at all, they still generalize and criticize negatively, especially kdrama fans.

A confused screenwriter, three storytellers whose proposals don't help, one of the most elaborate accidental kisses in dramaland, Ding Yu XI's microexpressions, clichés deconstruction , language's anachronisms ... Neither this drama nor its characters are annoying!
In my opinion, this drama is underrated (in fact, many cdramas are more than underrated, their real originality and quality are not recognized as they deserve).
"The romance of tiger and rose" (2020), a low-budget drama, has an original and critical proposal, with a lot of humor: a really bad screenwriter, who ends up trapped in her own script and realizes that her initial writing didn't make sense; this protagonist is in a way one of us, a special walking member of the audience who watches the drama, comments on it and tries to change it. We fall in love with the characters, and the chemistry between protagonists is excellent!
It's such a good drama! And there's nothing annoying about it!

I don't want to be controversial, but sometimes I don't understand dramas ranking on Viki. A while ago, I read a comment on the app itself, in which a person accused Viki of favoring its original dramas, placing them in popularity positions that they didn't have. I remembered this, when I saw that for days "The Prisoner of Beauty" had twice as many daily comments and many more pages, with a shorter broadcast time, than the drama that was in first place, which had premiered 2-3 weeks earlier and had a lot of negative reviews. Now, I accept "The Prisoner of Beauty" is not in 1st place, but a few days ago I didn't understand it... Yes, I know modern Korean dramas, and even historical ones, are much more popular than cdramas, no matter the quality, but I still found it strange, because normally on Viki the drama with the most daily comments is the one that is in 1st place

May I also suggest some Chinese dramas of this type?
In addition to "Go Go Princess Go" (2015) and "Scarlet Heart " (2011) which Koreans have made versions of ("Mr Queen" and "Moon Lovers"), there are many, many Chinese transmigration dramas, for all tastes and times - dramas with episodes of 45 to 7 minutes, long and short dramas, horizontal and vertical. Normal dramas: "The Romance of Tiger and Rose" (very good), "Joy of Life," 1 and 2, more focused on adventure. Minidramas or slightly longer (not vertical): "The Little Wife Of The General" (I got hit by a car and woke up inside a comic); "My Chubby Queen"; "The Queen System" (An actress was reborn and promoted to become the empress); "Please Don't Spoil Me"; "The Queen of Attack"; "My Fairy Doctor"; "My Poison Lover"; "Come On My Sweetheart"... All these dramas can be seen on Youtube and many of them are very pleasant surprises. And of course there are dozens of vertical dramas with this kind of plot.

I've just read some of your comments on this drama and people's responses to those comments, and I don't think they consider you a hater, they're simply making arguments, defending their opinion as you defend yours. Besides, we all need to pay attention to what we write, how we write it (and also check if we're misunderstood sometimes)...

My experience is the opposite. Negative (and positive) reviews about cdramas are much more acceptable, generating interesting discussions, than about Kdramas, which always have to be perfect and wonderful. On cdramas' MDL pages there is a much wider variety of reviews. Among regular cdramas viewers there is usually no critical unanimity...

Yes, there are many, many Indians watching Cdramas! I measure this by the reviews I read about Cdramas on YouTube. There are always many Indians writing. If you want to know what happened at the time, LOOK FOR IT, because this page will not be the right place for you to be enlightened, since we are commenting on a drama in which Zhao Lusi does not even participate.

Unfortunately, there are fans of some actors/actresses who don't accept other actors/actresses success and go to the trouble of organizing themselves to TEMPORARILY lower dramas rating and write negative comments. However, their work is inglorious, because the number of people who like the drama and actors work ALWAYS outnumbers them - ratings and opinions of the majority of the public end up doing justice.

In addition to the fact that there are often people who act as a group to lower the dramas rating, due to fan wars and hate, my opinion is that Cdramas and Jdramas are evaluated in a very demanding, relentless and honest way. Kdramas, due to their popularity and because they are considered, without exception, to be superior in quality, always end up getting high ratings, even though many do not deserve them. Even so, we are starting to see a greater balance, perhaps because cdramas have started to become more popular. (And let me confess something: in this ratings war, when I realize that a drama is being attacked, I raise my ratings, contributing to the final rating of the drama being closer to what I consider fair).

After the hateful persecution to "Love You Seven Times", I don't believe in justifications like "actress's performance". It's simply hatred and the constant fear that dramas and performances by beloved actresses will be forgotten. And that's why we see this phenomenon of a sudden drop in the rankings, due to the concerted action of a group. People still haven't learned that there is room for everyone: whatever they do, they cannot prevent other's sucess!

I just give my opinion and present my point of view. And please don't consider differing opinions as hate. I don't think it's forbidden to like Go Ahead more than the Korean version and explain why. I don't need to shut up and say amen to every compliment Family by Choice gets, especially when they compare it to the original Cdrama. Ah! And there's one thing I NEVER do: to count the number of times people write on a drama's page and to ask them if they hate a drama, just because they dare to counterargue.

Filter is filter. Period. Why do we always have to compare cdramas and other Asian dramas to kdramas? Are Koreans the only ones in the world who make good dramas/series/movies? There are so many great and diverse series around the world - from the West to the East, from the North to the South! Each series/drama/film is valuable for itself, for its creators, for its actors, for the entire team that worked on it - from the carpenter to the makeup artists, from the camera men, to the directors and producers...
Let's stop belittling cdramas and jdramas and twdramas and thaidramas ..., as if they were just imitating the Korean gods, incapable of creativity and innovation (have you noticed that even the best dramas from these countries are always rated lower than any mediocre kdrama?) But we all know that many of the biggest Korean hits are based on either Chinese novels and Japanese mangas or are versions of Chinese dramas (Moon Lovers and Mr Queen), Taiwanese and Japanese. So who has creativity? Just the Koreans? EVERYONE!

Maybe it's not about censorship, maybe it's about Chinese way of telling stories, maybe it's about more narrative sensitivity. But perhaps censorship is delaying a worldwide trend of mass entertainment and making everything the same. But censorship is never good, it prevents people from expressing themselves artistically in a full way.
