The lack of content released during major holidays concerns me. We’ve seen how Huan Rui treated Love and Redemption (L&C) and its former actors—specifically Ren Jialun (RJL) and Peng Xiaoran (PXR), who were only under contract with their subsidiary. I don’t fully understand the C-ent industry, but this strategy seems mind-boggling. Isn't it like they are shooting themselves in the foot when they neglect or sabotage their own series? While they profit from selling broadcasting rights to streaming platforms, do they truly not care about other revenue through advertisements and their reputation?

I know this is a male centric drama, just hopeful thinking, can Peng Xiaoran be the FL for this series? She has great chemistry and friendship with both GJ and ZYC? They will make a great trio.

I like your comparison. I feel that many Chinese actresses tend to present a more monotone image, often leaning toward a cute, innocent and princess style. Xiaoran, on the other hand, can be both cute and dynamic however she wants to present.

Beyond that, I really admired how she handled the press questions—especially her charm and confidence when asked whether she was worried about being 35. She engaged naturally with the audience, addressed the question head-on, and responded with grace and wit. That kind of mindset from the reporter—and from parts of Chinese media—feels very outdated. Just look at Hollywood and K-pop, where so many actors and actresses in their 40s and beyond continue to release films and projects year after year. I believe Peng Xiaoran’s authenticity and sincerity will help her gain even more fans, especially among audiences in their 30s and above.

Both of her looks at the event were absolutely gorgeous. She has clearly transitioned into a more mature, sexy, and sophisticated style that instantly captured everyone’s attention. Although I don’t fully understand Chinese, her interactions with the press were hilarious—she was incredibly charming—and her award acceptance speech was both thoughtful and insightful.

Congrats Peng Xiaoran for winning Sohu Fashion Award for Outstanding/Notable actress! Well-deserved! We know you work hard for every roles you perform.

She stayed until the very end of the award ceremony to applaud and celebrate every one of her colleagues’ efforts, even as others had already left. That speaks volumes about her professionalism and empathy.

Novel has HE.

With Xiaoran’s luck, it might be wise to keep our expectations for TBBM a bit lower. Who knows—maybe it will surprise us with ratings even better than expected, just like Unshakable Faith. Don’t get me wrong, I have full confidence in Xiaoran’s acting skikl, as well as ZYC and the rest of the cast in TBBM. I also really love the original novel.

I hope the special effects can reach, or at least come close to, BR’s level — just a hopeful thought. I really do want them to take their time and produce something high-quality. And honestly, I hope PXR joins a new group soon; it’s been a year, and I’m not ready for another drama drought.

I really enjoy reading the original novel. If they can keep it as close as the novel; we would have a decent series already.

I noticed the female director in the wrap-up clip — it looks like she’s the one in charge of the fight scenes. Hopefully she delivers strong work here, especially since this is a wuxia drama. I also read that the OST composer praised MYCM’s script for being very solid. I really hope the special effects and editing are well done. I have no doubts about PXR and ZYC’s acting skills; I just hope luck is on their side and that iQiyi gives them fair, decent promotion.

Same here. I wish Youku would release My Talented Neighbor. Xiao Ran looks adorable in it, and it could open more opportunities for her in modern dramas. I don’t understand the Chinese film industry sometimes—if they own the drama, why not release it? It could do well and generate profit instead of just sitting in storage collecting dust.

Now that L&C is over—even though the ending was disappointing—I still look forward to seeing PXR every day. I hope her other two dramas air soon, or that she joins a group or starts a new project so I can keep following her and stay updated. There are ton of Chinese actresses, not sure why I only like PXR and has been following her for years.

I know right? This is the alternate ending. Why don’t they give us this one instead?

After all the angst I’ve endured from Love and Crown, can Youku please release this drama of PXR to help heal my broken heart?

Can the novel author, Xie Luo Nan, criticize this drama producer about the ending, like how she attacked LCC’s role? This is not the ending I want. I want the ending from the novel.
