Tbh, I had some hope when I heard they filmed 2 different endings. Same old same old…it is a typical RJL drama…
Sorry, I’m still upset. I was really hoping the producers would change their mind and give us a true HE, especially considering how much Xiao Huan endured for the people he loved. Not only does he die, but LCC follows him after their son turns five. Yes, they at least have a child together, but what kind of HE is this.
I'm so annoyed with Ling Cang Cang because she keeps running to her father, being nice to him, and still showing…
As PXR mentioned, the cast only received each episode’s script as they filmed. Can you imagine how challenging it must have been for them to digest and understand the characters they were trying to portray? I blame the scriptwriters and production team for cramming too much into the show—some parts, like the misunderstandings and the Grand Tutor’s schemes, feel repetitive. They should have used that screen time to further develop the leads’ relationship.
It’s unfortunate that the novel author chose to single out PXR while saying nothing about the producers, scriptwriters, or the rest of the L&C team. I suppose it’s easier to target the most vulnerable person. PXR stood up for herself and also defended the hard work of the entire crew, reminding everyone that they should remain united in promoting the show. Her response was so articulate and poised that she ended up gaining even more fans.
Is there a link for me to read the novel? Because i like PXR as an actress and I think she did a really good job.…
I read the novel in my language and dropped it half way. Tbh, I didn’t like how LCC character was created in the novel. Drama LCC makes a lot of sense. My suggestion for the script writer is to tone down the misunderstanding part.
If you like PXR’s work, she has another drama named Ming Yue Cang Mang. The novel is very good and I heard the script for the drama is solid.
Did you all see the drama that unfolded today? The novel’s author criticized the adaptation for changing the FL’s character too much and even hinted that she didn’t like PXR’s portrayal of LCC (though honestly, she should be grateful the drama version of LCC isn’t as reckless as in the novel).
PXR responded directly and professionally. She welcomed feedback and criticism from viewers, but also reminded the author that a drama is the collective hard work of the entire cast and crew, and everyone should work together to produce something good rather than attack one another.
PXR is just like LCC—strong, fair, and unafraid to stand up for herself.
The drama opens with heavy misunderstandings and tension between the FL and ML, which understandably upset many viewers. But with a bit more patience, you’ll see how they address those issues and gradually rebuild their relationship. The trailers can be out of context and mislead sometimes; so watch and digest the full episodes.
I saw the schedule on Youku youtube early this morning. We have 1 ep on Thurs and Sat and 2 eps for Fri and Sun this week. But it’s a bit odd, they usually release the next ep trailer when they air; and more short clips around this time.
LCC and XH are the perfect example of opposites attracting—they come from completely different worlds. He was poisoned and stucked into political schemes from a young age, making him reserved and calculating. She, on the other hand, is the cherished only daughter of the Grand Tutor, allowed to grow up carefree under his protection. It’s unrealistic to expect them to immediately see eye to eye, especially when LCC is forcefully caught in the middle of political turmoil and XH never explains anything to her. I hope viewers can look at LCC from a different angle: she’s meant to be a carefree heroine, not a shrewd Imperial Preceptor.
