I came across a post from one of PXR's longtime fans on another platform, and they mentioned that PXR joined HuanRui's subsidiary company (RJL was with HuanRui too) in 2024. That’s why she was filming 3 series back-to-back that year. After that, she appeared on Sister Who Makes Waves. There's a rumor that she broke up with the company, which might explain why they didn't put much effort into promoting Love & Crown, both offline and online. Her fan also mentioned that she could still be working with iQiyi (she was an MC for iQiyi before transitioning into acting)
I totally agree with you—CBiz can be really cutthroat. It’s not just about beauty or talent; you need a lot of backing to truly gain popularity. I’ve followed PXR since Goodbye My Princess, and she’s worked incredibly hard to improve her acting with every project. Unlike some, she doesn’t try to stir up drama for attention. I don’t expect her to become a huge superstar, but I do hope she continues to land good roles. To me, PXR reminds me a lot of Tan Songyun. Hopefully, one day, luck will be on her side.
I honestly don’t understand why ZYC’s and PXR’s Chinese fans are being so quiet. I tried talking about it…
I recently found out that PXR ended her contract with Huan Rui’s subsidiary some time ago. That’s likely why there’s been no on- or offline promotion for Love and Crown, even though it’s currently airing. It doesn’t seem like the split was amicable, and her former agency doesn’t appear interested in promoting her work anymore. It’s strange—they’d normally want the show to perform well for profit. But this might explain the lack of activity around the series. It’s a shame, because the cast in MYCM are excellent and have great chemistry and the crew worked incredibly hard to complete filming in just 100 days.
I really like PXR, but I am a bit disapponted she took this role, which is somewhat similar to her previous role…I…
Unfortunately, she doesn’t have many options. She took this role when she signed a contract with Huan Rui’s subsidiary. I recently heard that she ended her contract a while ago and is now an independent actress. That’s why she hasn’t joined any groups lately. I remember her mentioning during the BR promotions that new role opportunities don’t just easily come.
I don’t quite understand why there are so many complaints about the drama by day 3. It’s one thing if people simply don’t like it, but it’s another if they don’t understand what the drama is trying to do. The story begins in the present, then shifts into flashbacks from a year earlier. Episodes 2–4 show how the leads first met; these episodes are meant to be cute, girly, and fun to watch. The ending of episode 4 reveals the cause of the misunderstanding between the leads, and episode 5 brings us back to the present timeline.
If the bubbly and adorable FL isn’t your cup of tea, just be a little patient—she doesn’t stay that way after major events change her life. Her character grows steadily as she navigates palace life and begins investigating the truth.
So far, the cast’s performances are solid to outstanding. Shoutout to RJL, and I’ve really grown to adore PXR—her acting improves with every project. This drama took over five months to film, which is much longer than the usual C-drama schedule. All I ask is for a bit more patience; it gets better after episode 5.
I guess chemistry is definitely subjective in this one. Both of the leads are gogerous and look equally gorgeous…
I don’t think LCC’s character is meant to be as naïve or gullible as Xiao Feng. In episode 7, she already witnessed and understood the coldness and cruelty within the royal family. Then in episodes 8 and 9, during the trial, she discovered new clues about her Master and even suspected that the Emperor might have framed him. Yet she still chose to investigate the Ghost King first. I think we’ll see significant character growth from LCC very soon
Do you realize that your comments should have been hidden under a spoiler alert.
I don’t think so. The comment above explained the symbolism of the pear blossom as a reflection of the FL’s personality. Whether it’s meant to foreshadow her fate is open to our own interpretation.

I couldn’t find a full translation of the novel in my language, so I think I only read a little over half of it. In the book, her dad isn’t a villain—the main antagonist is the Queen Dowager. The sister is still crazy, and the royal receptor is jealous of Xiao Huan and Cangcang’s relationship, but she doesn’t lose her mind or go insane. The show really exaggerates and demonizes a lot of characters. To me, Xiao Huan is a lone wolf but still hopeful, and Cangcang can stay by his side once their misunderstanding is resolved.
I'm very surprised on how much I actually enjoy this drama. NGL that I've been nervous about this drama for 2…
This is really well-written. You’re a great, fair c-drama critic, and I’ve enjoyed reading your breakdown of the first few episodes. Please continue the discussion if you have time. I’m enjoying the series as well—the chemistry and acting from the leads and the supporting cast are all excellent. The storyline isn’t bad at all; it’s definitely better and much more complex than the novel
does anyone know till when will the misunderstanding last?
In the novel, the misunderstanding is completely resolved after he risks his life to save her from the Northern clan. I don’t remember if that part appears in the trailer, but the leaked photos show her wearing the white, furry martial arts outfit in the snow background.
