I’ve always like Xiao Zhan’s visuals but have never watched his dramas and I am pretty excited about this…
Don't start watching dramas with him. You're going to be absolutely addicted. I think over 95% of his fans can safely say that his appearance is the least of his strengths. The greatest thing is the realism with which he plays. No actor of the current generation can make every character played by him a wonderful, unique personality. Only XZ. That's why the fans love all his roles, I advise you well, don't start, otherwise you'll fall in love with his acting and you'll have a problem :) But if you're going to start, do it now, because you'll be regretting every hour that you didn't know his acting :(
The trailer is so good considering they are still filming. They put it together so well and the visuals are just unbelievable. The way Xiao Zhan acted u can already feel this is going to be epic

yeah i think he plays a really good "daomingsi" type of character. he also looks effortlessly elegant in everything he wears, like a real prince, i often think some of his scenes and the way he looks in them are stunning and painting-worthy. especially when he's brooding or sitting on the banister, plus the few well-written speeches his character actually gets are sometimes acted so well. it almost makes me mad that the script and dialogue isnt very good as it doesnt do the character and his acting skills justice.
I haven’t finished watching yet. I see most people complaining about how dumb, how annoying the FL is but I don’t mind it. This is something I’m looking for I don’t think to drop it at all, it’s not too light or too heavy just perfect for entertaining. What I like most about this drama is the ML’s love toward FL, I find it impressive and It brought tears to my eyes seeing his true love destroyed by the FL several times.
Just gotta say that Jade Lovers is probably not going to come out in a million years and be shelved for a lifetime due to the lead's controversy. I'm excited for 'Why Women Love' too! I liked Jin Chen in 'Dear Missy' and Wang Ziyi in 'We Are Not Alone'. Also, the visuals are killer. I'm also looking forward to Zhang Yuxi getting more lead dynamic roles. I understand why netizens were annoyed because Cheng Yi and Zhang Yuxi are from the same company and the company keeps pairing their actors together, which doesn't make fresh pairings, but hopefully, their chemistry works. Cheng Yi's acting is pretty good too.

I know! I am so confused as to what the whole point of it is. I can watch Ze Mu and Xia Chu separately (well, Ze Mu mostly as Xia Chu is a bit too much - also considering she is a military doctor) but put them together on screen and my fingers immediately hit fast forward. Nothing seems to mesh - the music, the chemistry, the villains (oh gosh what kind of villains are these!!).
But if you're going to start, do it now, because you'll be regretting every hour that you didn't know his acting :(
