I loved this drama. It should be sitting at 8.8-9.0 IMHO. I wasn't a huge fan of the last couple episodes, but…
I was thinking along the same lines - just to give them the benefit of the doubt -that aforementioned line happened because of neglect and ignorance on the side of the writers, somehow overlooked and landed with this huge debacle. Culture & politically insensitive stuff happened in K-drama before and it seems to be not so rare occurance.
I must be the only one that thinks its all the old tropes repackaged but still predictable. I am not saying its…
@strawgal I feel the same. Itās just tropey, predictable and flat. Actually was waiting for this show for a long time as an admirer of Han Ji Min talent. The little glimpse of her brightness is in few scenes with the kid. Still hanging though but wish it could have more depth.
Well I'm enjoying the first few episodes but once again finding the aesthetic work on a Lead's face slightly unnerving.…
As an admirer for Han Ji Min talent and prior works, I donāt like what they did to her face here - it seems like digital editing. But who knows maybe plastics done the job as well. Makes her loose her facial dinamics and emotional expression.
Well, in the first place, it wasn't about the "romance". The Korean title is literally "Graduate". The teachers…
Well, you are unique and not everyone is looking for what you are looking for. Particularly not on this website. My intention is not to offend anyone but simply state the reality of the trend. Just like this show, J-dramas are low rated here in general because they are unique, makes us think but not everyoneās cup of tea. Even though romance was not the point here it was done well and most of the Directorās works have that combined with a social issue. Thatās why I like them.
Wow the rating plummeted - for those who are curious it wasnāt that bad. The romance between the leads was done well. Yes annoying teachers schemes but it makes you think⦠The show is definitely not for everyone⦠I love this director works - my all time favorite and it was up to par.
her: experiments on humans are prohibited, we have no idea of what could happen because of cosmic rays and everything…
That turned me off⦠S.Korea is so desperate with their plummeting birth rates, I guess, they shovel this pro-life commentary in the dramas now⦠It was especially ridiculous how OBGYN will call it a āmurderā who supposed to be a scientist - knowing how fragile DNA is at this stage, how damaging cosmic ionizing radiation to already formed human beings and we are taking about cells in active phases of division here⦠and how devastating those birth defects might be for the child and parentsā¦ā¦ā¦.. Iām still curious where this drama will go from now, but this definitely affected my views on the show.
Reminder that girlboss plots are not empowering women, just romanticizing justifying boss unethical behavior towards…
agreed.. also being cold/unapproachable/rude has nothing to do with being strong - these are defense mechanisms hiding the weaknesses. Rather it takes a lot of strength to be kind dealing with all those pretend to be strong. As much as I like the cast, in particular Han Ji Min in other series - I donāt enjoy the plot of this one.
Hehe so I did search for the literal translation and it goes like - "Breaking the melon~ Beyond the line crossed,…
oh wow thank you for the leg work š I was lazy.. I liked this one because they addressed things everyone else barely touches.. Japanese dramas donāt stop to amaze me - simple on the surface but deep once one dives in.
I also think English title is bad. that actually turned me off at first from watching the series. I wonder whatās the literal translation of the title.
Your observation matches mine. I used to rely on ratings and comments to make my decision to watch but more and more I find that ratings do not reflect what I like. Itās okay to have diverse opinions, however I find there is too much negativity especially in currently airing showsā¦
