This was great! I normally don’t watch BTS - but for this drama I watched all of the released ones so far. This was also on Netflix YouTube channel with Rowoon improvising is fun. You can tell that the entire team works so well together - I love that they had such great chemistry with director on the set and seems that both Bo Ah and Rowoon contributed to creation of those scenes sharing ideas and improvising.

I started watching this because I heard someone comparing another drama which I liked to this ML/FL relationship.
Besides production quality difference (which is expected), what amazed me how much perception of what was exceptable has changed. Some scenes are jarring how ML treats FL… 13 years is not that much for a change in culture and mindset - I’m glad it has and hopefully keeps changing for better more respectful attitude towards women..

I think the first scene we meet him is in the greenhouse - he is showing her different types of geraniums. Really creepy dude.

the gardener expected SY to be in much worse state “you seem fine” was his first line when they met - does it mean any of HJ’s casted spells protecting SY? (apart from red hand reactivation which was there prior to gardener’s meddling)…

And the question remains when did she fall for him???…. we didn’t hear the answer!!!! 😁😅😂

It was wonderful all the way through! One of the best humorous sageuks - loved it!! Now fan of Do Kyung Soo and Kim Seon Ho - both so talented! 🌹🌹🌹

I really like your insights and they match my own. Very much disappointed seeing other comments when people are so linear/black and white with accusations on “cheater” mentality. Real life is not linear or clear cut. Plus for a show to keep us interested there should be some anguish and struggles. 😅

My thinking was along the same lines of your 2nd theory… HJ was killed indirectly by SY - dying in his arms, she lovingly caresses his face... He blames himself and sets the curse in motion. Gardener was the “eunuch” mentioned by Eun Wol (who said “she loved the king but couldn’t have him and ended up with the eunuch”) and he is involved in HJ death. 😅

I really like both of their characters as well - they are well matched souls. He cares for her genuinely. She wants someone to share her love with and he wants someone to love him. That was so sweet and sad when they said it.
Though I don’t think writers will let them be together - really really doubt that happening in a Korean drama 😅. (Speaking of the age gap - I was so disappointed with Dr Cha ending and that drama actively pushed them together throughout the show but ended up as usual.. )
all in all I hope both of them have a happy ending - together or not 😊🌹

DO and Kim Seon Ho both have such great comedic presence👍🌹With all the outstanding support actors and humorous dialogs this drama is wonderful so far (ep 10)! mostly FF the palace politics scenes (not a fan of those)…and dreading the 12-16ep based on the comments. We shall see…

I see your point of view but I see it differently.
The real test would be if NY called him from her phone and see if he even picked up. In any situation circumstances matter. HJ called him and he showed up not knowing what NY might be telling HJ etc.

Thanks to this review I really want to watch this drama 😅(and subscribe to Hulu just for that).
With your explanation about ratings in SK, it makes much more sense now why some shows I like didn’t get as good viewership rating…

Oh.. Hong Jo knew (subconciously) Shin Yu doesn’t like bracken in ep3 because he was bitten by a snake in his past live… “I am groot” scene makes more sense now… I bet when our girl remembers everything, she’ll set things straight… 😅

One thing I couldn’t understand - why Hong Jo was so upset when Shin Yu showed up after she called him from the restaurant where NY passed out? Wasn’t it obvious that he was worried for HJ herself and not coming to save that fake girlfriend of his. That scene confused me…
