Sorry to say, but this is actually a poorly written romcom. I have watched plenty of them, but none were as stupid…
I was as perplexed initially watching all the absurd scenes in this drama, until finally realized joke is on me… Exaggeration here is intentional and meant to be absurd and cliche to the point of parody. When you look at this drama through such lens it makes sense and you actually realize how brilliantly it laughs at all those tropes.
This is ridiculously funny - all the tropes and cliches of a drama made fun of!! I didn’t even realize it’s parody for 5 episodes - now it all makes sense: parachuting to work, English castle, helicopter rescue… Brilliant! 🤣👏
This drama is sooo good! Just finished episode 4. Besides great acting/production, the storyline is absolutely captivating. Amazing how well they portrayed main leads’ trauma here. Kudos to the entire production team! 👏🥇
Hmmm… I am also not impressed with the screenwriting in this drama. « Not to watch » is always an option - but sometimes you are just pulled into it by good actors and production…even disliking it, can’t stop yourself from watching. Opinions differ and these are healthy discussions…
Ep 25 This drama keeps surprising me. Gyu Jin’s explanation for divorce was eye opening and made total sense - connection to his mom was a key… Initially was a bit skeptical at 100-episode drama’s ability to sustain my attention… well, it definitely does so far!! Writer doesn’t disappoint. Meaningful plot and witty dialogs. She is a true genius in a drama world!
Maybe I wasn't focusing on writing as much, but are you sure? I thought the secrartery character was halirous.…
I like secretary character too and girlfriends… Didn’t like the lines of ML - truly don’t think he even enjoys or believes in that character himself and I like his acting in general. The scene where he walked out of the shoot was a bit too much too. Plus instead of the witty dialogs there are these stares at each other. Second episode i liked but this one just BLAH 🤪
No amount of great acting and stellar production can elevate bad screenwriting. Dialogs are meaningless and boring. As much as I’m enjoying watching the scenery and actors - their conversations and situations characters are being placed at make me cringe badly. Cliches don’t have to be so boring and wince inducing. Business Proposal comes to mind - it was funny and sweet… I feel bad criticizing someone else’s work especially when I’m not in the position to judge (not a writer in any sense) but this one feels lazy. 😏
This became one of the best dramas for me! I watched it when it aired and can’t remember the last time when I counted days for new episode to be released… I watched and rewatched the episodes in the 5 days before next weekend… I downloaded and listened to the OST non stop… It wasn’t perfect (parents behavior got on my nerves and didn’t want bad guy to be bad), but most of the things were just pure joy: the cast, humor, dialog, music and most importantly the pace and ending. Yang Hee Seung is hands down my favorite screenwriter- after CCIR, i watched additional 4 of her works - and her writing never disappointed. Warm, heartfelt, witty and very funny. 🌹🥇❤️
