It's so strange how she could mess up this drama so badly. In the novel, none of this nonsense happens. The characters get together quite early, and Mr. Wang is never portrayed as a villain. She's trying so hard to make this drama unappealing. At least they should make FL start to putting some effort and does the chase after all that rejection that ML has gone through. Like I bet my left nutsack that FL will act surprised that the old guy was in love with her.

Because it was not focused on romance it's more like a family type of drama.

That drama is a simp textbook guide. Thinking about it makes my blood boil. I really hate that fucking drama.

I hope that by the end of the drama, the scriptwriter should not have the creepy guy act like he is the one who give up his pursuit and actually act as a cupid for the male lead and female lead. He should face harsh humiliation and rejection from FL. Unfortunately, I have a feeling the writer will do the opposite. I can already see that they might transform the creepy old guy into a nice guy, which is fucking frustrating.

You guys really forgot who the fucking scriptwriter is. Don’t you remember "A River Ran Through It"? For 36 episodes, we got about 10 minutes of a happy ending where the female lead and male lead finally got together. Meanwhile, for 35 episodes, we see how spineless and doormat-like the male lead is toward the female lead, while she is infatuated with a man who already has a girlfriend. This feels like a fantasy from the scriptwriter about how she wants her own man to be: a doormat and a simp, without any backbone at all. From the moment I learned that she was the writer of fucking "A River of Simp Ran Through It," I knew this would be a disaster and a poor adaptation. Eat Run Love my ass.

Yep, the one thing that the scriptwriter did a good job is that by removing this plot from the drama.

Well, she was the FL. Why would we talk about supporting characters when their plot was not that important?

Amen to that. Just for your information, forget the spoilers: in the novel, the male lead (ML) was not spineless or a doormat. He knew how to charm the female lead (FL) and attract her to fall in love with him again. The FL's character was never petty about their breakup, but she struggled but gets through it as she get help from counselling; she is more mature and understanding than she is portrayed in the drama. She was supportive of the ML and never sought revenge against him for their breakup. Instead, she allowed him to explain why they broke up and understood his reasons, even though she wasn’t sure if he could handle his problems or stay strong through them. Unfortunately, the screenwriter of "A River Ran Through" made drastic changes to both characters: the ML ended up as a doormat, and the FL became more toxic.

That's why nobody watches the old dramas. Just so you know, the female leads in those dramas often had no respect, and most of their audience consists of female viewers who enjoy that kind of content. Interestingly, many of the popular toxic male leads who also show no respect for the female leads were created by female screenwriters.

Bruh at least FL on L&P fight for their love🙄, at least she isn't trying to destroy ML hard work but work together.🙄🙄

Part of me wants to see FL lose her promotion and job while her company becomes embroiled in lawsuit issues, with ML smirking on the sidelines. In the novel, FL genuinely supports ML's decision not to pursue that investment, and her boss, rather than being a villain, is very supportive of FL's decisions to help ML achieve his dreams.
