Um. He was against it until he realized who this guy was, and figured he needed to know where he stood since he has to do with the whole grain thing. It's a trope in a lot of comedies and dramas where a girl asks a guy / female for help on being something they're not. He consented to in the end.

*folds hands* Deng Kai and his grey hair is oozing mafia bad-boy. I like it. I like that he is also not quite evil and not quite good. He is just trying to make sure his side comes up on top.

When I read books I read them for slowburn romance and plot build alongside. But it could be that people prefer fast paced romances. Both are acceptable but the story around it has to be strong to support either.

Depends on what ones. Recent Hollywood? totally agree. old hollywood? yearning and time to build a plot, yes.

Gah. I love the acting in this along with the writing. I can't shush up. It's on level with Hollywood romance dramas. The script writer needs a raise and another drama to showcase their skills.

I love how she never changes her personality or the writers make some sort of change to her. She remains humble, kind, and realistic. I just love she is a butcher and has no high expectations of being a princess. And he is falling in love with her because she is self supportive, strong, and is pretty as a bonus.

I love when we get sensible, mature scripts. Sometimes CDramas drop into this weird Disney way of talking down to the audience or repeating a scene a billion times. Not here. It's just letting it happen.

This show has me wrapped. There is something about the writing that has all my favorite tropes but the writing isn't juvenile. The yearning is so well done by both sides. I want to bottle this and give this magic to other shows so it can be just as good.

In Hollywood sometimes an actor can vanish into a role and I find that because of the writing and the little elements here and there, LZH and TXW are really doing just that.

I'm enjoying the village life right now. Now that his friend has shown up, this is gonna be fun.

Okay. Last comment. The way he wrote up the debts. I love it.

I love that he is inserting himself into this town drama because he is starting to care. She may be poor but she is worth more than any woman. She puts up with so much bull and she still has a smile and is the best older sister.

I hope he tars that Magistrates daughter.

Oh man, that shadow play scene was the most intimate scene I have ever seen in a while. If that was just an act, I hope we get some hot stuff coming.
