This couple is so hot. I swear, I am just sitting here, waiting for those makeout scenes after they just finish casturating the second ML and poking out his eyes.
I feel like the director likes navigating to shows where the male and female leads are mature adults. This, Blossoms in Adversity, Moonlight Mystique, The Long Ballad ... it's nice. Because in my eyes, consent is sexy and there is a lot of consent and respect from the ML & FL when they're on a path to get together.
I bet Prince Trashbag has NO idea who is behind that mask. But he was so suckered in by fame and fortune that he would sacrifice people of his city to get it.
Ugh, Ep14 is EVERYTHING. Let us unpack: The doctor tells her she cannot be emotionally stimulated by anger or it could trigger her blood clot. He decides that their partnership is done technically, so he takes her for a change of scenery. Meanwhile, he wants her to stay and assist (because he knows how driven she is and he gets turned on by that), but he is a gentleman and gives her freedom of choice. Trashbag Prince never gave her freedom of choice, just thought she had freedom of choice.
Our FL is so stunned but curious as to his motives of why he is so not-himself. While he doesn't want to tell her about the blood clot issues, and he is starting to develop feelings, he doesn't really know how to express them (again, shit with women and thinks he needs no romance). Yet, all the blood went to his dick when she told him that she knows him really well and that she is better than he is. He gets absolutely flustered because he is turned on by her to-the-point attitude and is like "WOW, LOOK AT ALL THE FISH IN THIS POND. DO YOU SEE THIS FISH? CHECK OUT THIS POND!" and she is sitting over there like, 'yeah, I got this man whipped, he likes me, I like that he likes me, and I say bark and he says woof'. Then he lights some sage while she sleeps.
Then, the ML with his dad? "DID I FUCKING STUTTER" moment? Lets give a round of applause.
God, this shit is good. I love that we have a ML & FL who are doing an A+ job and communicating, and acted by the best people in the roles.
Oh my god, the teasers for Ep15 &16. He is absolutely telling her exactly what he will do to those who will harm her. It's beautiful. Only the best from him.
I will say this, the weird Tom Hooper (director) close up moments when two characters talk to one and other and it takes me out. Instead of it looking like a natural close up, he does this weird zoom in blur focus. For example, in the trailer for Ep 14, she is about a foot away from XJS but the zoom in / center focus happens and it makes it look like she is standing father away. Then he gets it too as he is reacting to her. It's like, the dialogue should speak for itself, you don't need to use the close-ups like that to empathize your point.
What I am enjoying about the ML is that he never really fancied chasing after women or has experience with them. Yet when he tries its absolutely shit. He genuinely wants to work alongside her so they can both get what they want. He wants to appease her but is also indirectly falling in love with her at the same time. Then when people confront him about it he is like, if I did what of it? like no big deal. It's gonna be a big deal. eheh
I also like that they're off doing their own things but she is learning to regroup with him and slowly trust him.
