Yes, it's the same director. Interestingly enough, he also directed "Bed Friend", one of the first BL series I watched and that I liked a lot. I found "Playboyy" a bit better than people say: it was baaaad during the first episodes (mostly the acting), but got better later on, in my opinion.
The director seems to like exaggerated "cute" or childish characters. Besides turning TutorYim into caricatures in "The Middleman's Love", he also directed "Secret Crush on You", a series that would have been decent - if not for the very annoying portrayal of the character Toh. That made the series just cringe.
y’all r scaring the hell out of me, i haven’t anything with tutoryim since cutie pie, i didn’t watch that…
In my opinion, their best series as main couple (so far) was "Battle of the Writers". If you want to watch something with TutorYim, please watch that instead of "ChermChay". I don't know how the later one will develop, but at least up to episode 3, I would rather recommend BOTY than CC.
Forced "comedy" strikes again and ruins the series. I enjoyed the first episode, but during the second one I noticed the exaggerated comedic/cartoon sound effects - and I just hate them! My first thought was "Please not the same director as The Middleman's Love". Ehm, I checked... yep, it's the same one.
I loooove TutorYim, but why don't they get better series? "Battle of the Writers" was good, I liked it, and I was hoping they will get better and better series, after surpassing the annoying "The Middleman's Love". That one was awful, because forcing TutorYim to be comic, cute or whatever that thing was, was a mistake. Unfortunatelly, I believe "ChermChey" is going in the same direction. Or even worse, because starting from episode 2 I can't even see what the plot is.
TutorYim are great actors, they have amazing chemistry and their NC scenes (when not cut) are hoooot. So please, for the love of God, give them better series or at least another director!
I'm at episode 19 now and, so far, I find this series quite boring. Mediocre acting, no chemistry, not so great NC scenes and the plot is non-existent.
I was expecting something about a secret relationship, but only in episode 15 they say something about keeping it secret. Yet, I don't know whose relationship is supposed to be secret: the main characters' or is Foon in a relationship with Blue? Can't say if the dialogue was poorly written or if the translation is bad. In any case, I am confused, because Foon and Blue talked about "our relationship". Since Pin is always horny and Foon seems reluctant (or not enjoying it) almost all the times, it seems plausible to me that Foon might be in a relationship with Blue. ¯\_(ツ)_/
I will watch some more episodes, hoping that it will get better. 'Cause the premise sounds interesting, but up until now, I didn't really see any of that. :(
PS: The guy playing Blue is cute, looks a bit like Shinee's Key. :D
Imagine the poor sound editors having to edit each and every second of this series, just to end up with something that feels more like cartoons than as a serious work. The sound effects are extremely annoying. Thai series use them in excess (God only knows why), but this one is the worst! The series is ok-ish, nothing special, but nice to watch. Were it not for the sounds! I don't know if I will keep watching. It's not that good of a series to help ignore the annoying sounds.
I don't know if it's original or "borrowed": the South Korean series "Sweetheart Service" has…
Thank you for explaining, now I understand what you meant. That's true: if they didn't pay to aquire the rights, it's easier to just cancel the project. But I still hope they will keep it. Someone suggested JavaSurf as leads somewhere in the comments. Not a bad idea. :))
wait, the man and woman at the beginning of movie were Gyeongruk's parents?😐 i mean at first it seemed like…
Please post this as a spoiler. I was just thinking about watching the movie, then I read your comment (it's the first that came up) and it totally ruined the movie for me. That's, of course, not your fault, but many people would be very grateful if you could please edit the comment and mark it as "spoiler".
Everything in this series is soo good except why make a grown up man act like a 10 year old kid. 😭😭 Why??…
I was thinking the same. I even looked up if the series had the same director as "The Middleman's Love", because that one was also cringe. The characters were not cute anymore, but more like caricatures. I totally understand that they want the characters to look and act cute, maybe it's also the cultural difference, but this is way too much!
"I've seen many better series, even college-themed ones, that have a lower rating." This already shows…
I never said I loved TeeTeePor, certainly not that I "love them deeply". But even if I did indeed "love them deeply", I'm still objective enough to know if a series is good or not. I understand that you are a huge fan, but 1) that doesn't mean the series is good (at least so far) and 2) you can rant for hours, it still won't change my opinion.
I like TeeteePor / PorTeetee and I enjoy the series so far, but the funny sound effects (not funny at all, actually) totally get on my nerves! I also think that the rating (8.6 as I'm writing this) is exaggerated. Even if I like the cast and the premise, this is still just one of the many college series, nothing THAT special until now (episode 4). I've seen many better series, even college-themed ones, that have a lower rating.
What is going on with this series and the admin of their Youtube channel? Episode 9 has been out for more than a week now, without subtitles. I didn't even know episode 10 was online, because it's not in the playlist. I just found it now by chance, also without subtitles. Even though I want to support the actors and I watch series always on their original platform, this time I even tried on kiss, hoping to find the episodes with subtitles. But even that platform gave this series up, there are only 8 episodes online.
For everyone asking: meanwhile, episode 4 has been uploaded on YouTube, but I can't find ep 3. Maybe they messed up the settings and the video is not visible to the public? In any case: the series is now available on GagaOOLala, too. So, if you can't watch it on YT, but have a GagaOOLala membership, go watch it there.
