How is the romance in this one?its not the main point is it?i really wanna watch this drama everyone says its…
the romance is barely there, i would say, and certainly not the main plot. it's more about the political struggles, the schemes, and things as such. i'm biased, but i find it very well written and equally well acted out, you should definitely give it a try.
It felt like watching the drama write itself, which was actually the case. A rather novel idea that made it even more enjoyable to follow. With all the 'jabs' they took at themselves, with the advertising, and not only. It kind of felt like 'Age of Youth', years later. It was realistic, engaging, heartwarming, adorable, funny.
It's from the creator of the movie ''Twenty'', which i happen to very much love too, so i hope he comes up with more projects like this. Not one minute did i feel bored or like wanting to skip.
Gosh the leads have AMAZING chemistry! Thank goodness they were able to convey the love they had for one another…
Yess, Lan Zhan's tiny smiles are precious. And all the instances when he not only protected him but also stood by his side and supported his opinions instead of just going along the ''public opinion'', as his uncle would've probably wanted him to. And i could go on and on, but i don't wanna subject others to my lenghty rants ^^
And, yep. I've seen the news. I'm actually okay with it, since i loved Yang Zi in the dramas starring her that i saw. Of course, i hope these two get the chance to star in a drama together again, some time in the future. Otherwise it would be such a waste of chemistry. Even if i know it's never gonna happen, i would looove to see a 2nd season with WWX and LZ raising the young boys and taking them to night-hunts and all. Oh, look at me, ranting again :))

Aww, only looking at your profile picture fills my heart with joy. Find me a person who could resist his sweet smile. I had to actually delete my youtube history for the past few days only to not get any more suggestions, cuz i kept watching every bts, interview, video with them there was (even if some of them were in chinese and i couldn't understand a thing). Hopefully the anime will give me closure :D. And yes, it was probably the directing as well, but they totally knew what they were up to. The first that comes to mind is the scene in the cave where WWX asks Lan Zhan if he likes MianMian. And if that look on his face doesn't say ''It's you, stupid, that i like'', then i don't know. Then there's the forehead ribbon, the bows, the teary eyes, that final smile, well and their actions overall. Not to mention that in the drama as well Lan XiChen was totally shipping. Maybe because i read the novel i could grasp the details and the references, but the drama went straight to my favourites list. Uh, sorry for the rant. Enjoy the audio drama! (Unfortunately i can't, since i don't know chinese).
I'll take your surname, if you can convince me there was no romance in this drama. *giggles*. Maybe the guys who proof-watched this fell under the spell of the main leads as well and couldn't bear to not release it :D
Back to serious stuff though, i can't seem to part ways with this drama without leaving at least a teeny tiny comment somewhere. Of course, it wasn't perfect by any means and by all standards, but it was perfect to me, and i loved it to the bits. I was simultaneously reading the novel, and even if some things were changed i was able to thoroughly enjoy both.
One of the highlights was Wei Ying's relationship with his shijie. It was so heartwarming to watch, it got me all giddy and super happy. The way they treated each other and the way he smiled at her with brotherly love was endearing.
Not to mention the sizzling chemistry between the leads. Doubtless, a confession scene would have been much welcomed (not like the one in the novel tho; hilarious as it was, that certainly couldn't pass the censorship), but they confessed with their eyes and with their smiles (especially WWX). Besides, there were so many other quite obvious hints. Overall, i think it was well balanced with the other aspects of the story.
I'm moving onto the anime now, because i simply fell in love with this story. But i'm sure i will come back one day to re-watch this.
It might be better to watch the uncut if you don't mind watching it on chinese sites, especially for ep 18/19…
Oh, so you are the angel subbing this?! I saw you told someone on your website that you're subbing the cut version, that's why i asked, thanks for the heads up. I am a bit reluctant to watch on chinese websites since i don't understand chinese almost at all. Anyway, thank you very, very much for subbing this. I can only imagine all the time and effort it takes. Your work is appreciated <3
Hello. Can anyone please tell me what is the difference between the cut and the uncut versions? Am i losing much or anything at all if i'm watcing the cut version?
As far as i know, this season stops at chapter 488 (included). But, if you have the time, i recommend reading…
I'm reading it here: https://www.readlightnovel.org/nightfall But i don't know who the original translator is. Maybe someone here is more knowledgeable than me. Anyway, enjoy! (The translation is ongoing, there are 685 translated chapters so far, out of 1088)
Does anyone know what chapter this season ends in? I would like to continue the story in the novel, please. Thank…
As far as i know, this season stops at chapter 488 (included). But, if you have the time, i recommend reading it from the beginning. I have started recently, and it's really nice.
Can someone who has read the novel tell me if Chao Xiao Shu will ever make a comeback, please? And if so, is that going to happen any time soon? It seems i'm way more interested in his whereabouts than in some story arcs going on at the moment.
Am i the only one that thinks the princess is annoying af.. the way she uses her role as princess to get close…
ikr .... i was specifically annoyed at her when she was trying to shove her little brother in Ning Que's care, as if boy has nothing better to do right now .... in fact, she has been annoying to me since day one, with that arrogant attitude of hers ..... in that aspect, she and Long Qing would make a really good pair .... and don't even get me started on the 'romance' part ..... the way i see it, she's totally into Ning Que, but i hope she'll never do anything about it (at this point she almost seems ready to offer to marry him) ..... at first, i thought i could like her, but it's looking hopeless so far .....
I'm just here to say, amidst all the drama, that i really love Pu Chi's character - i loved him in the novel, and i equally adore him in the drama. I think he's the character who was translated the best from the book into the drama. He might appear carefree, but he's so caring towards Jin Mi and supportive. Behind his smiles he has said quite a few wise words and he was always able to think clear and discern between what's right and wrong. He's definitely one of my favourite characters.
Online streamers have this drama at 63 episodes. I hope that is right since we still need a lot to happen.
Depends on where you're watching, on some websites they're differently cut. The ones available and taken from Youtube are shorter, so there will be 63 of them (but on 4udrama, for example, there will be only 60 episodes, because they're longer).
I started this drama fews days ago and i stopped in 40 episode waiting for eng sub.I loved the lead couples, i…
No, she's not pregnant as of now, that's a lie Xu Feng made up hoping to stop his mother from hurting her. In the novel it was Jin Mi who said it. As for the wedding, i'm not sure, but i think it should be somewhere in the last episodes, given the pace of the drama.
