If you want “melon” I saw something about a republican era drama with Yang Zi. But the good thing is that now that his concert series started is possible that he will start filming soon. He said that he can easily take a few days off during filming to attend the concert dates.

I think both endings are with in the script . There are not “real people” in this story. I guess the only real people was the screenwriter that we saw in the end. I think in the scrip implied that they would always would be together though. If they died they would come back and be together. Is the white head reference to white hair of old age or there is other meaning?

One of the few things i didn’t enjoy was how the trailers gave away important parts of the plot. For example, when everybody died and everything restarted I think everyone figured out that that all characters would come together to fight. The execution was still neat though.

Never heard anything about it . But I know the producers kind wanted to do a number of shows based in shared universes. They are producing a show that is supposed to start filming soon in the same universe as AJTL, so maybe they plan to do the same with ADWD.

Last I heard he mentioned that he may not be singing an OST for this drama because he didn’t like any song offered to him. Things probably changed since but is a possibility.

The script dictates that the ML always saves the FL. So far the ML was able to save the FL and just got a hurt a little. But if someone really try to kill the FL that might end up really killing the ML…LYN can die yet again . That would be a great joke.

To be fair “The Prisioner of Beauty” also included a nod to LYN eyes as well.

Like someone already noted LYN got a lot of hate during AJTL. People always make fun of his eyes. They says he have small eyes ( not a pretty trait to have in China) . The fish lantern had small eyes. Also is ironic that despite not having pretty eyes he can play a character so well using his eyes only.

I still think the ornament exaggeration is related to the satire. You see that a lot of this type of hairstyle in other dramas. I seen a lot of fun been made of the hairstyle of some actresses before. There is one in particular and it is not Bai Lu.

Yes, but I’m pretty sure there are a few things only Chinese speakers and people who live in China would understand. Like accents and specific music used in specific scenes.

I think the show is great. I’m only wondering what literally has been “lost on translation” for the English speaking viewer.

The emperor is not the bad guy here !!!! The villain should be the least expected person.
