I think the cops here are doing a good job compared to the cops of the black and white forest drama, where the cops will call in all reinforcements, wearing bulletproof jackets, but still, the killer gets away every single time that it was so ridiculous...

I must have missed it then. So they threatened him to kill Wen Yue's parents and I guess that is why he tried so hard on splving cases. It kind of makes sense.
