No it's not, if I was a mother I'd sit my family down and tell them because they have the right to know especially if I'm gunna die because they are the ones who will be effected the most after I die so spending time with them while I'm alive is the last thing I could do if I was in that situation. Not telling her only son isn't protecting him at all, imagine he finds that out from someone else or doesn't know until she's bedridden, he'll blame himself!

Nope they don't need to milk the series anymore, they showed they couldn't do anything with the story after this season so I doubt a third would bring it back.
