One thing I want to mention is that if you watch a new drama with certain preconceptions, you may not have the best experience. If that's the case, I will suggest you take a break in between. IS is truly one of the best Xianxia out there, if you like mature love drama with excellent acting, chemistry & story.

Actually, people don't really care about Douban ratings. Douban rating for popular dramas have mostly been low. We look at other metrics to determine success of Chinese dramas in China. What to watch, what to like, really depends on individual preferences

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually half-watched it already, but I couldn't really get into it. Firstly, I think because I have already read the novel, so I already have a certain expectation. Visual effects is amazing, but acting & chemistry is quite different from my expectation. Since i read so many rave reviews, I watched with sky high expectation of a 9+ drama. This shows that preconception is a dangerous thing. If I didn't read that many good reviews & if I haven't read the novel, maybe I would think differently.

Yes, you are right. I check Guoguo's posters and most of them mention Draw The Line. I also check YZ's side. Her fans have been pretty quiet. So CY must have gone to HS to promote DTL, instead of IS

Agree. CY is the king of Xianxia. Have you watched him in Happy Camp? His acting is really too proper for a variety show. He delivers even in comedic situation. YZ's acting is also consistently good. Both always deliver. They also tend to have good chemistry with the other leads. I have watched many of their dramas. The only issue is that sometimes the other leads' acting are subpar so the chemistry ends up not great.

I agree, I think you need to take a break before watching L&R otherwise you may not be able to enjoy it as much. Their casts are very similar so it's very easy to compare their acting if you jump straight from one to another. Both are very good dramas.

Their chemistry is really amazing. I know some people are disappointed with the lack of skinship & how most kisses happen in a dream. To me, I don't think they need it & it will be quite out of character, given how proper YY is. The way they look at each other, the small gestures, the not so obvious smile. WOW!!! Maybe I need a recommendation on another drama who has leads with such amazing chemistry!
Well, normally summer has the biggest line up. I am not too sure what to recommend either as it really depends on your preference. If you like Xianxia, Wuxia & don't mind keep watching them even after watching 3 in a row, maybe you can start by watching the top rated ones from prior years or start by watching past works of your favorite actors.
