It seemed like the most recent subbed episode (4) his attitude changed a good bit more all of a sudden in friendliness…
I did see Who Rules the World and liked that they made the leads act competent which is not always a given in a drama lol. If Blue Whisper is as good then it is worth a watch and I'll give it a go this weekend.
Cracked me up with the Paul! I can totally see how Sri and Techit are friends as both act off emotions a lot so Paul's more calm demeanor will allow for some good playing off between Sri and him later on. I hope they give Siangwaan a bit more individual personality as I have only seen occasionally her getting a bit mad at Techit (he deserves it 95% of the time), being morose or just very calm. We should see more along interests and personality as she potentially regains her memories or the romance heats up.
Falada posted teasers but can’t see anything on her website, pixie had 2 episodes uploaded
Beer near here is about $5-$7 so I feel her pain lol, I do miss the $5 pitchers from my college days. On LP it comes out to about $4.50 for me as I pay in USD and it converts to 5 Canadian dollars so a bit cheaper. I do miss MUSE and how fast they were :(
I'm enjoying this one, even without subs. So funny. But ... Techit moved on really really really fast or was there…
I agree, it almost seemed like he went like 2 episodes forward from being scared of her to caring. I think the episode count might have been compressed during production but someone else might be able to tell more about that or not. Maybe when she snapped at him for just using her for his own means like to pass a message to his dead wife or something he reflected and started to see things from her side and how terrifying this experience must be and how only he and the helper can see and help accompany her through this and this humanized her to him.

A bit of a wall of text coming, sorry :(
My thoughts going into 4 was that it was exactly like Bella and she is still alive somewhere but in a comatose state or something as I have not seen the original drama either. On the gangster SML I think he is still with the cops and running a sting undercover maybe but he does have a reason to have a grunge against law enforcement after his dad died (but his dad did want him not to blame them and to be a cop) so I am 50-50 on this as we know he is not a total bad guy. We also know he had moved away at some point then came back and that Pinkploy's character the "maybe ghost" is implied by Techit to probably be from a well-off family due to the amulet so maybe they met abroad and that is how she might know him.
I am liking the drama so far as I have never seen a Pinkploy drama and this one is fairly tame and relaxing. I do wish the ML didn't have a fast-forward quite so much on feelings but this being a 10 episode show makes me think the number of episodes changed mid-filming so they sped things up a little bit? Btw, is blue whisper worth it? I watched one episode subbed so far but it seems it will go heavy romance then betrayal for the mermaid? Is it worth a 40-episode investment?
I dropped everything when sub for the Blue Whisper came out, didn't notice this is currently showing. Subs are…
It seemed like the most recent subbed episode (4) his attitude changed a good bit more all of a sudden in friendliness which almost made me feel like I missed an episode. I wouldn't want him moving on from his wife so quick even if they didn't show her character much but I am glad he stopped being as much of a hot head. I am also glad they finally had him realize there was more than one ghost as well.
On the clothing I thought the same on all the changes for a ghost and where are they coming from/why? However, I do like the outfits as they just look like a real cute style especially with the hair ribbons and the clean looks and match a friendly personality but also the "resort" vibe.
Maybe married I would definitely probably stop watching if they have a family that’s my que to stop watching…
---spoilers for 5/6----
He is "married" to Pin in episodes 5/6 as the family told him they were married but I doubt the original marriage to Pla was annulled even if it is weird he has not suspected enough stuff in 6 years time . They (Pin) have not had a physical marriage as she is afraid of contact due to the implied rape when she ran away from the farm 6 years ago. Pin, the aunt and the farm manager are lying to him but he knows (or is heavily guessing) the caregiver is Pla and that he has a connection with her. Pla meanwhile ended up taking on prostitution to help pay the hospital debt (at least that is how it looked in the very last scene). Also Sahathep and that secretary have taken a leadership role at the hospital the child and now Tai are getting treatment at and he still pines after Pla even after he killed Tai for all he knows so he is re-entering the plot. All in all a lot of heavy stuff going on.
I ended up dropping at the end of episode 6 due to the Melodrama as I prefer regular more lighthearted romances and was questioning it going into this week. Add in the implied rape, amnesia, having to sell your body, about 90% of the characters being very shitty and abusive people and yeah it got too much for me so I'm a bit sad as I have never watched a Chippy drama and this will not be the one to watch for me.
I really enjoy watching Thai dramas, but was suprised to only know about half of the actresses listed.
I watch about 75% Thai Dramas right now and I don't think I've seen maybe 4-5 of them? The ones I normally always try to catch are Vill (but she has bad luck picking dramas), Kimberly (Kimmy), Taew (my favorite) and Bella. Yaya when she releases dramas is also a huge, massive star. I want to like Sammy but most of her projects just have not been my taste, the rest it is mostly just incidental if I watch one of their projects. Pretty decent list of most of the top lead actresses.
Me, FL isn't a turn off but it's Anna lol. I think chemistry between FL and ML is so good but for me it's Anna…
The FL and ML chemistry is great, I do think Nilin is immature especially for someone wanting to be a CEO but this is a lakorn so I tend to turn my brain off for things like that so long as they have good chemistry. Anna is okay as her own standalone character and I actually like they have her in the drama as Donut is great but her character is missing the reason for exactly why she left Win. I think it will play out fine for that but it hints sometimes to the reasons but also shows her character as not being swayed by money and wanting love but leaving love as well? A bit confusing honestly, but I think the piece will fall into place and maybe it is a bit similar to Lisa's as she wants to chart her own course? 50-50 on that as I think the audience is missing a clue or two currently on Anna, and depending on what it is will make her a good character or a smh type of character.
edit: just saw episode 9, yeah things are about to get interesting.
I thought about the same and figured she was about my age in You Are My Heartbeat so I was a little surprised that she was only 23/24. Some people just look older or younger than they are. It makes a bit more sense with one of her pairings now and I actually find her different look interesting so might check out some other work.
Totally agree. But not only are the subs slower than kdramas, the quality of the video is also very poor. A lot…
Thai dramas are like weird candy to me, objectively dubious sometimes but oh so good. On the raw vs subs that is normal for non commercial work with hosting costs and maybe the encoders/processing used on subbing to reduce the time needed. Not exactly sure on that as I don’t have any experience there but normally the subber’s sites themselves have better quality versus reuploads on dramacool so I would support them there for the work with quality as a bonus.

Its a virtuous cycle thing, good production and translations along with international licensing leads to more fans and more money and more fans and more money help lead to better production values, better official support teams etc. Kdramas got a kick in the pants more than a decade ago when the government also helped finance as part of a soft power push for exporting culture and influence the same as China and other countries do along with the booming economy. The dramas started having better quality cameras and in some cases movie style cinematography and really started pitching themselves to outside markets and pulling in more money, I think Thai dramas can do the same but are about 10 years behind and are more toward domestic and regional consumption right now. Best we can do is keep the fandoms alive (fansubs, forum discussion etc) until that point is reached as once it happens you do start seeing ease of access pick up almost what seems overnight relatively speaking.
That’s sad, I was hoping for a redemption too (it had potential with that cast but the story smh). I like them together but the two pairings in previous dramas so far have been pretty heavy. I want Pon in a sweet male lead role with Bua versus more of a melodrama heavy one
Exactly 😂I once thought to learn Thai language instead of desperately waiting eng sub.I guess there were numerous…
Currently its a bit of a crapshoot once Channel 3 started going after some of the english sub groups. I do sub to LP but was wondering if they were taking subs off other groups when they coincidentally upload at the same time on common projects (is there a handshake agreement from subbers for this?). Also if some of the latest lakorns get posted and then another team doesn't pick them up they also disappear off LP's frontpage so I am not sure what is personally being subbed as its like 50-50 (might just be dropping them if not interested as a team).
Current teams working on eng sub content seem to be getting thin compared to a year or two ago and I am fine with paying for some access if the channels themselves would make them available or a MUSE like team comes around. I am just concerned about a slow subbing death of many of the current series in this environment. Ones like Neko, Grumpy Cat, Thippy and a smaller extent Rainbow subs are the only groups left actively standing unless a James J or Kimberly project. Sorry, was some rambling thoughts.
Many props, this must have been a lot of work and I am glad you wrote it. Out of these my favorites were Likit Haeng Jan & Leh Nangfah and I am looking forward to Macalee Tee Ruk but have not heard much on it in a bit.
I have not been able to continue watching EP4 and onwards. I keep telling myself I will. Will I? Maybe ^^’
The age difference comment thing was not about Patti and the Father as yes that is crazy as well (and why you can't believe she truly cared for the ML as a viewer if she goes behind and married his father?) but on the villains younger brother and her as that is crazy as well. The FL is 22/23 here I think yes, and if that younger brother is in high school then it is truly weird the bar and such would treat it as a no biggy (looked it up and drinking is 20+) on the serving alcohol and the rest of the stuff but then again it is a drama, you'll see some with high school students smoking cigarettes and such as an example of a youth who is astray for quick characterization.
On ML lying and FL going back to the villain for like 5 episodes, it was a lazy way to add drama and extend the show. Cut 5 episodes and tighten it up and it would go +1 in my book. That said overall I still enjoyed it but skipped some scenes toward the back half of the series.

That was around the tipping point where it went a bit cartoony, I know she didn’t want him to lie to her and told him repeatable so but the reaction didn’t make a lot of real sense as she should have just backed off from both guys till it was sorted. I am not sure of thailands laws but maybe the little brother would not be considered a minor for alcohol if 18+ unlike US? I’d agree on the Patti thing but I find arguing large age differences on this website to not be productive due to how I’ve seen others be chewed out for suggesting it as weird (very passionate people with opinions here and on Reddit).
