Episode 36 likes and dislikes: Likes: 1. Conversation of Beom with his baby brother. It's very natural for an adoptee to want to know (if possible) their birth parents. Wish he wouldn't in this one but of course it's a major plot usefulness. <> 2. Dong Seok, Dong Seok, Dong Seok
Dislikes: 1. Ex. I mean who is she? She is nothing to this family anymore. Why is she in their house and free rein. 2. Chun Soo. Like most of other kdramas, the dis-communication. Has he not already started over with Mi Sun? Why not openly discuss this ex issue? As a couple they should be at a place to deal with it together. 3. Heung Su. What is his actual relationship with Ok Bun? She definitely got it right there when she asked him that? It's unfortunate that he was chosen as the one to be fussy about sis in law. Brings his character further thumbs down. 4. Gwang Suks eomma. Her character is between 50/50 love or hate. She gave second hand embarrassment at that dinner. GS not cutting it off at just starting is irritating. There's a thin line between elderly courtesy and made to look like a woman on the auction block. I don't know maybe it's a normal cultural thing but that was cringey as heck. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Maybe re-do Gwang Suk's crying? C r i n g e y....
So tired of seeing the grabbing and pulling of a woman from the middle of a conversation with someone. Who does that in real life. Hope this is not how it is in korea. I actually like the vet. This brother is a nuisance of immaturity and it’s unfortunate they portray him as such. I mean in all things considered, why would he be chosen over the vet?
Why????? What does bringing the ex do to the well developing story? Unnecessary!! With drama winding down, this brings a bad taste. Probably screen time now goes to this, professors ex next, dogko. Terrible choice of whoever decision makers are.
If she really wanted him to be happy, she should have just stayed away seeing that he’s indeed in a good place. Now all the brewing troubles, and with Dokgo too. Don’t get why youngest seeks this strange woman for answers when he doesn’t know her when he should ask his brothers.
My least favorite episode so far. 1. Still don’t like Seri write up. At first I was excited at prospect seeing her at end of last ep. She is practically handed over to professor on a silver platter. He is bound to her, no buts or ifs. They never dated but bc she fell in love with his daughter, then him as dad, 🤷🏽. 2. The mom blabbering her mouth about such a deep secret of her in laws was tasteless. I don’t know, it just didn’t play out well in my book. The reactions, everything about that major development was underwhelming. 3. While Hani is adorable, everything about the birthday set up was bland. Maybe because it felt like it was a display, advertisement. I’m actually beginning to notice a lot of that being incorporated in kdramas. (Just finished Connection and kopiko was the item of sell). For me, it’s a takeaway from my enjoyment but yeah, that’s me.
Overall, this was a forgettable one unlike all the others I’ve enjoyed so far. Not looking forward to nasty Doko and his useless anger. Alas, I’m beginning to sense a weakening of script? OR, maybe the lack of Chairman Han screen and his magical smile? Hope it picks up again next week.
Absolutely enjoyed this episode. Wonderful writing and directing. For Seri I would almost want a time jump so that in a few years after her return, we can see a mature, confident, successful young woman. However, I would miss the ever so cute dating life of leads. I can say though that Seri in short hair, seemingly happy in her new gig is heaps improvement so we shall see. I almost wish though both she and Beom had love interests not in relation to their family dark past. Weird and awkward.
I’m not trying to jump ahead to see what is to come because this drama is my slow burn dopamine. Well paced, everyone getting good screen time for development, of course my bias are main leads and love it when they get more of. ☺️
Could do without too much silliness and add more depth would be nice. Practically whole episode of chasing the ‘bad’ guy who then turns into the ally is all for nigh. Didn’t need all the time spent on it. Thinking out loud 😆
I discovered something. Ratings, good or bad depends on crazy people, not necessarily good or bad. The cdrama The Prisoner of Beauty already has an 8.8 rating so I looked it up. The episode ratings has already been rated by consistent fans to last episode. Here I am dutifully rating per episode in this one never thinking it possible to go beyond. Ha. Oh well, enjoying this one a lot and think it deserves higher rating but now I know not to rely on it.
