Oh dear….
I have so much to say about this but I truly do not know how to put my thoughts into words without it becoming a tangent so I’m gonna try my best.Someone described it has a proper queer movie & I could not agree more! It had everything you could ask for…passion..angst…EVERYTHING!
I started off the movie gutted I hadn’t watch it a lot sooner…if only I had remembered why I initially didn’t watch it the first time it was on my radar…If only.
It’s honestly been a while since a queer movie moved me - or got a reaction this did out of me…I literally bawled my eyes out (non stop) in the remaining half of the movie.
I do have to say I went in blind not fully reading the synopsis due to the fact that many synopsis on here tend to contain spoilers, then about 5 minutes in I thought to come back and read it properly. While the thought of something tragic happening did cross my mind. I was not expecting what I got cause I thought ‘gone are the days of queer cinema with sad endings’…..How naive I was.
Lastly, I know this is fictional - but, Kosuke was definitely a godsend to that family and I could not help but hurt for him.
The cast did a fantastic job portraying these nuance characters. We need more of this in Asian queer cinema…of course with more happy endings.

Heartwarming watch
This was an heartwarming watch. I only watched it because I recently discovered its tv adaptation. Thought it would be ideal to watch this before the new one adaptation.There were a few dialogues I disagreed with watching this but putting myself Sugihara’s shoes definitely makes you understand his way of thinking.
It all does come down to cultural differences I think. Looking forward to watching the TV adaptation.

A ‘meh’ from me
I was hoping I would love this but I truly struggled. I’m not one to skip scenes but towards the end I couldn’t help but do so.And to be honest, I was not expecting much as I tend to avoid watching pre 2020 Thai BLs cause I remember how much I struggled with them back then.
But watching ‘Not me’ prior to this gave me a big push cause I wanted to see ‘Off & Gun’ in something else.
While I wouldn’t recommend this, it’s not a full right off. It’s more of a reminder for me to not bother with older Thai BLs.
The scenes with the main couples were great though. They did a good job with what they had. And Gun is a fantastic actor per usual. He has a way of showing emotions in a way many actors in this genre aren’t able to.

Japanese Version of ‘God’s Own Country’ & ‘Brokeback Mountain’
I can see why it was compared to ‘God’s Own Country’ & ‘Brokeback Mountain’. It does have that vibe. Only we didn’t get a gut wrenching ending. So, I highly recommend. It’s a refreshing watch.It was also nice to see an establish Japanese actor in this. Loved Yûki Furukawa in mischievous kiss series.

I’m surprised I’m only just watching this…although it does feel like I’ve watched it before. I won’t be surprised if I watched it before ….It was so ahead of its time. Even though it’s short, it’s definitely better than some of the recent stuff that’s come out of Korean LGBTQ+ productions. It was also really nice to see many familiar faces in this. This had everything - all the tropes without the cringe!
I’ve just binged watched the whole thing. It was such a satisfying ending!I’ve been on a Thai BL binge the past few weeks - and I’m just so lucky that quite a few shows are ending at the same time. So I’ve been living. I deffo need to get back to reality at this point.
This whole series was absolutely fantastic.

Yeah…this took a turn.
I went in not having a clue what I was gonna get myself into and goodness me, was I put through a roller coaster ride.Just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover.
Highly recommend!
This has got to be one of my favourite Korean BL of 2025. We need more of this but maybe not in a love quadrangle lol.

Just incredible.
This is definitely one of the best shows I’ve watched this year and I’ve seen a lot…the cast did an incredible job with their characters. Although we’ve seen a boom in Thai BL (goodness, it doesn’t feel right to call this BL) with good plot in recent years this definitely scratched that itch I’ve been craving since Kinn Porsche & Not Me - so I’m genuinely not surprised that this was so good. WAY TOO UNDERRATED!
This show actually knocked me off my feet!It’s so underrated. I can’t believe I almost didn’t watch it. It has got to be the best one this year so far - and I have watched a LOT of 2025 BL shows.
I wasn’t so shocked with some of the plot twists and a few definitely had me gasping - but what I was not expecting was that last reveal!
It’s way too underrated and I can’t wait for season 2! The cast did a fantastic job!
And hats off to the Korean actors too cause acting in a different language cannot be easy, but they were able to convey their emotions through it - especially the second lead. Just bravo!

Such a gem.
Honestly, this was such a joy to watch. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such gems. I’ve definitely been sleeping on both leads of this show. I’m currently going through all their other works and having a great time. The other actors did a phenomenal job too.It’s such a realistic take on life, so I can see why it’s not for everyone — especially BL fans who prefer high school romances. That’s probably why Heart and Li Ming seem to be the viewers’ favorites. I love them too, but I think all the characters are very nuanced.

Never Judge a book by its cover….
Oh, this is a gem! I definitely judged a book by its cover with this one.I thought it would be one of those typical Thai BLs with great production but bad acting and no plot line — but boy, was I wrong!
I’m now on a hunt for all their other shows, and I’m usually not one to do that, but their chemistry is phenomenal, especially considering all we had were just glances. This is honestly exactly what I’ve been looking for in these shows.
I already left a comment on but I honestly I felt this show deserved its own review.
I wish I had watched it a lot sooner.
I’m off to watch Moonlight Chicken!

Phenomenal…more of this but make it more satisfying.
I know I'm very late to this, but this was such a thought-provoking show. I actually predicted it would end the way it did. And while I'm not completely satisfied with the ending — and yes, you could argue it's realistic given the plot - I do think it feels a bit outdated for today.I've watched enough LGBTIA+ shows with sad endings to last a lifetime, so this ending was honestly such an eye-roll for me. I could see the angle they were going for from a mile away. That said, the acting was phenomenal, it really pulls you in. I caught myself holding my breath during certain scenes.
Overall, it was a great show. I can't deny that the aesthetic and cinematography were an absolute joy to watch. We need more shows like this-just with more satisfying endings.
Also, the closing text summed up exactly how I felt about the whole thing.

I started this not knowing what to expect andgoodness, was I impressed!
Considering the premise, the production did a good job. The actors also did such a phenomenal job in portraying their characters.
I genuinely did not want it to end. I’m hoping for a sequel but I doubt we will ever get one.
I would love to see the two male leads in a different show together, their chemistry was so beautiful to watch….genuinely felt like I was intruding in some scenes.
I honestly need more well written gay stories and tv-shows like this.

A lovely watch.
This had a slow start but I’m glad I kept watching it. It was so worth it.I was a bit frustrated with DH character but he redeemed himself in the last episode…. A true realistic end to it all.
I would love for a sequel but, I don’t think it would be a good idea as they could create unnecessary drama , so I think I’m content with this ending.
I will definitely be rewatching it.

Extremely Overhyped - But I would still recommend.
I finally took the plunge and watched this.It wasn’t an awful watch - but I do have to say considering how it was all over my algorithm when it was on air, it was definitely overhyped.
I enjoyed watching it but the writers pretty much used every k-drama cliche in the books towards the end. It became a bit laughable actually. And as per usual, I do not believe the antagonist got the punishments they should have gotten for their actions.
Will this get a rewatch? Definitely not. Not an awful watch….But not a masterpiece either.
