The novel is definitely funny with a little seriousness sprinkled in here and there, it is definitely lacking in plot development and character growth (unlike MXTX later works) but that doesn't take away one iota of enjoyment when reading the story, I laughed out loud so many times while reading the novel, mostly due to Shen Qingqiu's inner monologues and Lou Binghe's weirdness. And also the smut, OMG the smut, MXTX does not disappoint 😌. am happy you've already ordered the book, you will definitely have a blast reading it!

Is'nt it too formulaic to have a smart hero and dumb villain,? Done too many times? Also, if Yo Han is dumb then I fear you have in leaps overestimated Seon ah's smartness. The fact that they can both one up each other is what makes this so entertaining, like am genuinely worried about the protagonists in this drama, what's the point of being at ease when watching a drama unless it's a slice of life, with no thrill and no fear?. Personally I believe victory is so much more sweeter if you struggle for it.. which is why I dropped Vincenzo, Geez the guy won at everything, it wasn't thrilling anymore it was predictable.
