Normally kiss scenes in drama appeal to the giddy honeymoon phase of relationships, whereas this drama is highlighting a more mature longer standing relationship. They still kiss and show love physically but they are more comfortable with the healthy distance they maintain in their daily lives and work harmoniously together showing love through plenty of other things as well.

in ep 1 Moo Jin said that they even found the wife who left him as bones, in ep 8 they have her pic on the board dated as the first victim. also the recent flash back implies that DMS at least liked his wife but was hurt by her 'betrayal'
