I watched ep 10 thinking it was the last ep..... although slightly confused I thought to myself, I guess that could be how it ends. Came here to write a review and realized I have to wait a whole week for eps.
It takes an incredible amount of energy for me to say this:I've seen dramas in which childhood tropes were either…
I once made a video saying tropes aren't inherently bad, people are just lazy and use them to tell the story for them, and when a writing puts in the effort a trope can actually be enjoyable.
OMG same... I also have something in the morning tomorrow, so I can't stay up till 11 again for no reason.
Yeah, I go to bed an hour after it's supposed to go up and last week I waiting a whole hour extra after that, still nothing so I had to go to bed instead of being tired during class.
For most it's a Happy ending cause they end up together, and all the good guys lead happy lives.
I'ma be honest, an objective review would have me rating is a 6.5-7, but I can't stand ahjussi romances. He's supposed to be physically twice her age and she is still a minor when their relationship starts. The drama tries to play it up like she's more mature cause she is a diligent worker and student, but that frustrates me cause that's a common tactic used by IRL predators. They make their victim feel like they are older and ready for more adult things. I know someone whose grandpa tried grooming them when they were 12, by telling them they were a big girl since they knew how to cook and clean, and that they should help their mom around the house more like all women should. Some fans were like 'oh but they waited until she was an adult to do anything' This is still called 'grooming' and the writing of the show normalizes and romanticizes it. As if that wasn't bad enough they kill her off for cheap tears and then have her reborn and they meet again when she is yet again a high schooler. I don't recommend it to people cause it's tiresome hearing that they adore that love story and defend the narrative.
I've considered watching it again just to give a better review.
